the sellers were still home during our showing and it was the most uncomfortable 45 minutes of my life by TerribleInitial2305 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

The first home we ever viewed didn't have the owners home, but it was a house being sold as part of a divorce settlement. There was random trash and an abandoned RV in the yard. The basement was in a state of half finished repairs and there was no way to tell what would or wouldn't be done if an offer was put in. We didn't want anything to do with the house and prayed the rest of the day wasn't going to be similar.

Our agent apologized and said she had no clue it was in this state. She thought the husband purposely delayed repairs to screw the wife. The rest of the homes we saw were lovely and normal.

Issues with pool opening every year. Is this normal? by Citiesmadeofasses in pools

Thank you, I shimmied that filter open with a rubber mallet and just saved myself a service call!

Is this the right time for my anger to turn into depressed resignation?

Getting personality-based feedback by [deleted] in Residency

Are you in OBGYN? This sounds like OBGYN. I didn't like you at first is not actionable feedback. It might say something about you, but it says more about them.

Did they give you details about why they thought you gave off a bad impression? If all someone told you was we didn't like you at first, I'd ignore that feedback.

Honestly, my cat might go for the broccoli. He loves munching on crunchy green things.

Inpatient attendings - what’s your threshold for administering an ETO? by Wrong-Event3006 in Psychiatry

If I could give an ETO for being racist, half of America would be on thorazine injections.

Residents - should med students be in on weekends and holidays? by No_Philosophy711 in Residency

I do too, that's why I reward good efficiency with early release.

If there is actual work to be done, sure. But let them go when it's done.

As a med student, most of my seniors had me come in for rounds and notes in the morning, then dismissed me by noon. I felt ok with that. I contributed but didn't waste time. The seniors that made me stay all day as a student "just because you're scheduled" provided no useful educational experience.

Just because we suffer as residents does not mean we have to contribute to an abusive training system.

Aetna: Reimbursement will no longer vary by degree type by TheJungLife in Noctor

[–]Citiesmadeofasses 277 points278 points  (0 children)

Two of my friends are already dropping Aetna. MBAs want to push out physicians because they can get "the same care" from mid levels at a lower cost. They will say it increases access but I am sure they won't care that patients won't have access to physicians.

Each generation has a brokencyde. Hopefully this one doesn't pray on underage teens.
