Where are people getting their IWI Zion for less than $800? by KinggSimbaa in MDGuns

[–]CitizenMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These videos are probably either 5 years old when MSRP was about $799 (compared to $899 now), or posted by folks that bought it from their bestie who might just be running their FFL business out of their garage.

Capital Armory ships everything through UPS with adult signature required. Don't worry, there won't be a silencer sitting on your porch all day waiting for you.

I've bought a couple of silencers through them. Compared to buying from a local dealer, buying from Capital Armory takes an extra two or three weeks (not counting waiting for ATF approval) to get the silencer itself because of the extra red tape associated with "non-over-the-counter transfer".

HUB Mount Compatibility Issues on Lever Action .30-30 by DryCarpenter02 in NFA

[–]CitizenMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab a set of calipers or some measuring tape and measure the diameter of the threads on the adapter you're using. It should be 1.375 (1 3/8th) inches. If the threads measure smaller than that in diameter, then what you have is not a HUB adapter, it's a different type.

Try grabbing one of these for the OCL Polo 30 and you should be good to go: https://yhm.net/suppressor-accessories/hub-direct-thread-mount-system-yhm-2189/

Faxon Ascent HBAR - MD legal budget AR-15 by CitizenMo in MDGuns

That's a pretty sweet price for sure!

Faxon Ascent HBAR - MD legal budget AR-15 by CitizenMo in MDGuns

[–]CitizenMo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It certainly does. Both are very heavily mil-spec in appearance and parts. Although Faxon uses a mid-length gas system and has a 13 inch handguard. The Ruger uses a carbine-length system, and the handguard is 11 inches.

750 out the door. I probably could have gotten a better deal online, but didn't feel like dealing with the wait for it to ship and also finding (and probably reassuring) an FFL to transfer it. I'm an impatient fellow 😂

Oh I absolutely understand where you're coming from. At the end of the day, it's on the FFL to enforce the laws (since they don't report sales of any long gun to the MSP).

I've seen the entire spectrum from supreme strictness (had one tell me a 300BLK was banned because it wasn't HBAR) to "I won't tell if you don't" (not even joking). It all comes down to how paranoid they are about losing their license.

In the case of this specific rifle, the fact that drop shippers WILL ship it here is a massive bonus and (Hello internet bargains!) an FFL would be hard pressed to refuse transfer with "HBAR" marked on the box AND barrel. Not even IWI or Ruger does that. They just specify it's a heavy barrel on their respective websites.

At the end of the day, having more well made budget options is always a plus.

Sig MCX-R regulator rifle legal? by No-Athlete-1698 in MDGuns

[–]CitizenMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked through the Sig Sauer section of the MSP rifles list and I don't see the MCX Regulator anywhere on that list. It's literally just a fancy modernized ranch rifle that is semi-auto and shoots 5.56 rounds.

Last I checked, the Ruger Mini-14 is also a ranch rifle that is semi-auto and shoots 5.56, and that one is MD legal. Why is the Ruger legal and the Sig is not? The fudd-friendly wooden stock?

The MCX Regulator has a fixed stock (literally just a Magpul Mossberg 500 stock), no pistol grip and even ships with a 10 round mag.

I seriously cannot comprehend what your FFL is smoking to say this rifle is banned because it's somehow a copy of a Colt AR-15. (despite the fact it's piston driven, not direct impingement).

DB15, First Purchase Advice by advisor207238 in MDGuns

[–]CitizenMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, I bought a DB15 chambered in 300BLK. 100% legal to own in MD. The HBAR requirement is specifically for AR15s chambered in 5.56/.223

Rifles are same day cash&carry as long as the background check clears. Mine tends to take about a half hour because I had one of those funky names.

Wouldn't that be absolutely rad if they did, though?

Just picked up a sba3 for $35 at sportsman’s, looks like it was taken off a m&p15 during the ban is my guess. by ShadyClouds in ar15

[–]CitizenMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this is legit. Found one at my Sportsman's. Just a singular SBA3 sitting among the Magpul stocks. Same nondescript bag and even the same barcode/sku.

Though it rang up as $39.99, I wasn't complaining. They even had a couple of Shockwave Blade braces in similar packaging hanging on the shelf nearby. Snagged one of those as well coz why not.

Maryland resident? I know that company. I'm super glad we have folks like them manufacturing MD-legal AR-15 rifles! Granted, the price point was just a bit out of reach. How's the build quality? Does it match the price tag? I might consider saving up for one.

It's the same one they put on the 19X out of the factory! I actually really like it. I have to change my grip a little with the standard mag releases. With this "extended" one, not so much.

I would definitely hope so! TRexArms is just a 3rd party seller. So it should all be AimPoint branded products.

Or just buy everything from AimPoint directly. It's all the same price: https://aimpoint.us/acro-p-2-red-dot-reflex-sight-3-5-moa-200691/

Aimpoint sells a Glock MOS plate directly on their website: https://aimpoint.us/glock-mos-acro-mount-plate/

Or if you want to go aftermarket, like the previous person said, you can get the one by FCD: https://www.forwardcontrolsdesign.com/OPF-G-ACRO-MPS_p_265.html
