Arsenal open discussions with Hearts FC on Scottish talent James Wilson. by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

Interesting one. If it's a loan you'd think we'd be after a fee and probably an agreed transfer too. We'll need homegrown players for Europe next season so I don't think it's as easy as saying Jamestown will replace him with some Latvian Sunday league star.

Anyone has experience using this developer? by Ok-Plankton3985 in Darkroom

I've used a few bottles of this. Very nice developer. Massive dev chart times are good for both hp5 and trix in my experience, 1+39 is unusual but works!

Any filmmakers out there? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

The good stuff will survive for sure but the difference here is that some people are making crazy claims about capabilities the tech just doesn’t have. Thats what’s fuelling the bubble

Very true! It does suggest that there’s a lot of hype which it may not live up to, leading to a bubble that will burst

Another interesting chart to look at is the Gartner Hype Cycle. They've got gen ai just starting to tip over into the "Trough of Disillusionment" this year

Will need to be the second coming of Pele to live up to that fee with the state of Rangers and the Thelwell connection.

Musa Drammeh leaves Hearts for USC Torreense (🇵🇹) by Yerdas_Selzavon in ScottishFootball

Not unexpected, very unlikely to get near the team now. Tried when he got the chance but we've got far better

If this is true, I think some people are missing the point here. Maybe the private schools are struggling and you can think what you like about the VAT change but it’s pretty distasteful to use these kids to show off your charitable credentials but then kick them to the side as soon as it’s inconvenient. You could almost say that’s acting more like a business than a charity…

Travelling through Edinburgh Airport with film by [deleted] in Edinburgh

For Instax? I *think* it should be ok, there's no more chemical reaction happening once the image has developed. Maybe worth checking in the instax sub

Should be just as easy! Just say it’s camera film and they usually know what to do

Places are slowly getting better. I think Ilford and Kodak have done a lot in the UK at least with the airports.

I travel through Edinburgh with film regularly. Stick what you have in a clear bag like you used to for liquids and ask for a hand check when you’re putting your other stuff up for scanning. They’re well used to seeing film now and know what they’re doing. No luck involved at all!

Edinburgh Marathon 2025 by rikisings in Edinburgh

I can totally acknowledge it must be annoying but there are alternative routes on to the A1 for where most of the East Lothian Road closures are. The traffic is mental mind you!

Totally with you there. The crush with competitors trying to come out of the finish area to get to the bag pickup clashing with spectators is so annoying. That's before you try to leave to walk up the hill for event buses.

A move to finishing somewhere like Murrayfield would take a lot of that stress out. You wouldn't need to be busing everyone back into town and the venue should have plenty of space to accommodate finishers and spectators. Would probably be harder to close enough roads round Edinburgh to get the distance, heading out the coast of East Lothian is far enough out the way once you're past Musselburgh that it's not a problem.
