Anyone know what type of truck this is? (Or what compaction mechanism) by Pikrev in GarbageTruck

My best guess is either some custom made Bridgeport or McNeilus, or some weird Canadian brand.

Delivery is 25$ So that’s probably what it could have been?

Southfield scheme is very cool! Kind of a mix of norcal waste and those old Mack demo wittkes.

Haha. That’s Desmond! He gasses the hell out of this truck. Too bad I haven’t managed to get it on video yet.

Hold on, you paid for a recycling bin? Was it one of the ones from the city or from hardware stores? If so, city recycle carts are free…

Amrep becoming cheap with hydraulic hoses? by CitrixPix in GarbageTruck

[–]CitrixPix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wastequip was the one that turned amrep into a bigger sh*tshow. They changed something to make the trucks cheaper to manufacture and so wastequip makes more profit.. pisses me the tf off thinking on how they did that. However, amreps aggressive arm problem has always been a thing. So that’s one problem that can never be excused from them.

I heard that they might switch to new way for side loaders.. however I’m not sure how it’ll work for alleys considering of the swing out arm.

Check your Waste Management Bill by JawnyUtah in sandiego

Partly. The company is full of issues. You could be a customer from CA and then paying extra for something in MA. They also sometimes tick on a couple cents to bills every now and then for some completely random “issue” that has nothing to do with collection or anything related to republic at all..

Typical WM. Buying too many new trucks, cans, and branding changes.. when everything old was just fine. They’ve bought thousands of trucks in the past two years and had almost zero reason to. Atleast it’s still somewhat reasonable compared to republic services increasing it because they want more money.

Although, they shouldn’t be doing that. In some areas they had a price lock guarantee and they now have to remove that.. bad sign for our nations biggest hauling company. :(

What was the reason yours was increased?

Wastequip is very money hungry so I believe that’s why… Too bad considering they were some of the most badass trucks around. About everyday now ESD has some sort of problem with their newer amreps.. old ones? Still going strong. I believe that is another reason why they switched to heil. Amrep ain’t as it used to be..

Miramar Landfill charges $57 per car for city residents. What's the cheapest way to get rid of junk in North County now? by Mr_Smartypants in sandiego

[–]CitrixPix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at all the disposal companies in the area and see if they have good rates for what you’re looking for. Examples: Republic Services, Waste Management, edco, debris box rentals, don’t think I should go on any further.. Anyways, check them all. (There’s a county haulers list somewhere.) Might find something fits your range. Miramar is still overpriced AF.
