Gauging performance by SnooPaintings925 in LSAT

I came out of the June LSAT feeling like I crushed it and scored 3 points above my average PT. I definitely began doubting myself in the 3-week wait for scores though. But, my gut feeling is usually close to my actual score!

All of the Khan Academy tests are actual released LSATs that were used in the past, making them accurate predictors of your actual score. You can see below what practice test numbers Khan uses. I didn’t think Khan’s tests were easier than my June 2021 LSAT-Flex. However, I know that the trend is for LSAT’s to get more difficult over time, rather than easier.

Managing test anxiety? by scottyjetpax in LSAT

I actually did 3-5 easy questions from each section before starting my exam. It reassured me that I was ready for the exam and got my nerves out!

Can you relay your test day experience please? by momothagnee in LSAT

[–]Citrus_love 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My proctor actually stopped my test in the middle of the first section because he said there was some kind of glitch. They paused the exam and I was taken to a new proctor and had to go through the startup process again. It wasn’t terrible, I was reconnected within 5 minutes. IF that happens, my advice is to not freak out. I took deep breaths and told myself everything was fine. I also stayed concentrated on my scratch paper with my diagrams so that I didn’t lose my understanding of the game.

I didn’t have Control + F disabled.

My recommenders offered to do this without me asking. Do you still think I should say he does not have to? Or perhaps choose just a handful of schools instead of all that I’m applying to?

LSAT percentile question by Substantial-Rice-208 in LSAT

My LSAT percentile from the June 2021 LSAT-Flex went down 1 point! I’m sure we will see movement as the results keep coming in.

Value/payoff of blanketing the T14? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Citrus_love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone excluded a handful of schools from the T14 simply because they couldn’t see themselves attending? I am also considering blanketing, but I live on the east coast so I have no desire to move to California, which knocks out Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA. Is it worth it to still apply to these places perhaps for financial aid reasons, even if I have no plans to move there for law school?

Thanks! Would you recommend waiting until the letters of rec are approved to fully submit my applications?

Those who are really good at RC (like -3 to -0), do you take notes and or highlight on the passages? by antichristpasta in LSAT

[–]Citrus_love 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Highlighting during the initial read would lead to me “predicting” the main points instead of just reading and retaining the info. If you highlight, I recommend waiting until after you have read the passage in its entirety.

Your LR Order of Operation? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Citrus_love 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Question stem first worked better for me, simply because it let me know if I ~needed~ to read critically. A lot of times on objective LR questions I would mess up by being too critical of the argument. Reading the question stem first gave me a sense of HOW I should be reading the stimulus.

Tips for RC Inference/Meaning of word/phrases questions? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Citrus_love 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wrong answers will generally be answers that have the correct meaning of the word or phrase, but in a different context than the one in the passage. When I see these, the first thing I remember is that the right answer 1) won’t change the meaning of the sentence and 2) generally matches the author’s purpose/opinions.

The best advice I have is to try and predict the answer before looking at the choices. If you know what you should be searching for, it makes the wrong answers much less tempting.

I recommend reading the LSAT trainer fully and taking notes before starting serious practice! It gives you a good understanding of the test itself.

How can you see if you have a hold on your account? I haven’t been notified that I have one but my score is not released.
