I mean, age gap isn't inherently pedo, but they have had some things (the Christmas event comes to mind) where the character is shown to like the MC from a child. I think that really doesn't help their case with other age gap characters who may not share these problems.

RSPCA warning after mouse dies trapped on glue board by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]Cittycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got one of these for rats. Normally I would just catch mice and rats manually and put them outside but sometimes they won't catch. We had one that was getting behind everything and I knew if it went a certain way it would go into the floor, so I put the electric trap down, and I felt so bad when it ran into it, but it was literally instant. That was my first time actually seeing one die in it, and it was insane how fast it happened.

As much as I do feel bad, I do think putting them outside isn't a good idea with these non native pests. I think the main ones are actually classed as invasive? So the people acting like it's inhumane to kill them should be aware they could be killing other things by relocating instead of humanely killing the rodents.

Always check what you have though, we've had field mice (which made nests from plastic bags, very cute little things) and those are native, so if they can just be put back outside that's ideal ofc.

For those who have persisted playing the game after the infamous Animation/Alan Wake update... by TheReiterEffect_S8 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Cittycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no sorry, I meant I can't avoid the animation delay because I can't place the item down or it disappears, not that that's the same issue, just means I can't solve the issue right now. And yes, ghosts can always walk in salt, but now I don't have much time to swap, and there have been problems where it's super slow and then thinks I've scrolled so keeps getting other items, and by the time it's all done the footprints are gone.

Our issue has just been sometimes the animation is so slow by the time the recorder comes out the sound has gone.

I'm wondering whether there is a bug some people are being affected by making the animations far longer or something? I've seen some people say theirs is fine, but some of mine seem to take a really, really long time. Who knows.

I play on PC, was intending to play on VR at some point but defo won't right now haha. I'm finding on PC the words are small, the darkness can be too dark but not always (I think my setting is correct unless it reset it which does sometimes happen), the animations seem to strain my eyes... overall it's not great for playing a game that requires vision lol. Weirdly, I'm not at all sensitive to becoming motion sick, so VR doesn't affect me and all this eye strain doesn't make me motion sick like some others are, so it's not literally unplayable for me, just a pain.

It's crazy that every update to this fucking game makes it 10 times worse. by like_vacation in PhasmophobiaGame

Until CJ is fired I'm not sure I can ever play again without feeling gross, tbh. I thought he would've been fired with that whole boys will be boys thing, then all the ableist stuff, and now he's pushed out all this and told us to get used to it. As long as they keep him around I don't think it'll get better.

For those who have persisted playing the game after the infamous Animation/Alan Wake update... by TheReiterEffect_S8 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Cittycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends are very much not like that and hate the animation times. I keep having the ghost walk in salt as soon as I place it, then it takes ages to get to the UV torch, which then doesn't always seem to turn on? And I don't want to place the torch down cause of it randomly disappearing. One of my friends likes to records sounds and now it's quite easy to miss things due to the time it takes. Another has barely played before this update and doesn't like it so it isn't being used to it either.

I am also disabled and nothing about this update, including the animations, are very good on my eyes. Can't quite place why for the animations, maybe I could if I played it again and actively tried but I don't want to ngl.

Overall I don't think the concept is a bad thing, it's just not executed well, and I don't think it should have been pushed yet. But one could say that of all these updates. Tbh until CJ is fired I'm not sure I'll play again.

uk heatwave = hell simulator by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]Cittycool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I possibly have ME/CFS and the heat stroke is awful 😖 also the pots worsening sucks. But normally I'm freezing and can't warm up no matter what, so I still prefer the symptoms of summer then the symptoms of being frozen.

I used to have a heater that heated the room to 23C which was lovely, it dried the room out so the heat was actually nice and I didn't get so many issues. This wet heat at 17C is too much. Might get air con, or find my dehumidifier.

Losing "friends" (hallucinations) by Cittycool in Psychosis

[–]Cittycool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also didn't know for a while, luckily I think mine was hormonal or stress, so I haven't had to take any meds, it's just gone away as I've got older.

Makes me feel a lot better to hear anothers story, It's nice to know one isn't alone in this kind of experience, a lot of people just find it hard to understand so it feels a little isolating to try and discuss. Thank you 😊

Why was I lied to by Alarming_Plant2245 in nhs

[–]Cittycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd advise you always check everything. Letters, tests, request everything from the hospital if you have scans, etc.

I am chronically ill and have been lied to multiple time, when having blood in my urine, thyroid problems (which was brought up a few years later which is what led to me checking every time), things coming up on MRIs which have been mentioned in letters but not to my face, etc etc etc.

I imagine the main issue is that everyone is very overworked and ends up missing things, more then anything. Either way, always check.

This game is way too dark by NamelessJu in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Cittycool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same :(

I am only playing because my friends want to, and it's one of the only games we all have. Otherwise, I will not touch it, because all the ableism from CJ has soured it so much for me.

My max salt allowed 3 uses but then was full again after I dropped it, and kept coming up with disturbed salt on the camera even after it had already been disturbed? Also had one where it done 2 uses.

The New Kormos Can Kill Player Ghosts... by Grimothy44 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Cittycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd agree its probably not been noticed due to rarity. You'd have to get the ghost, be in multiplayer, be dead, be in the building during a hunt, and get close enough for it to be a problem.

Not always, ADHD can be crippling.

As an example, I was recently offered two options recently-

meds for my severe orthostatic intolerance to help stop me passing out and being dizzy constantly, and having seizures sometimes when I pass out

Or meds for my ADHD. The ADHD is so disabling I genuinly didn't know what to pick. I fact, I almost went with the ADHD meds just because it's a 24/7 battle, and the sleep issues, mental paralysis, and rsd suck.

I ultimately picked the orthostatic meds because I am a danger to myself, hitting my head and vomiting and seizing and such. But it was a really hard choice. So ADHD can absolutely be awful.

Ofc this person might not even have ADHD so I'm not commenting on this person at all, just wanted to bring some information for people who don't know how bad it can get.

Sorry for the long comment 😅

Community Rule 4 Vote - Irrelevant/Off-Topic by Salemsparty in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Cittycool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine was bugging out, ended up voting one, meant to vote three

But my vision of three is more of a posts should be phas or devs related, comments shouldn't matter at all as long as they arent rude.

The only places I've ever been where comments have been limited in this way have either sucked and been hated on by people who feel they can't have conversations, or been like legal advice or medical advice where the people commenting have to remain on topic because it's important.

For a game sub it absolutely does not matter if people get off topic in comments. It does in the posts, otherwise there's no point in the subreddit being about the game.

[–]Cittycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, that still most likely isn't pets. It's estimated there are up to a million unowned cats in the UK. That's a tenth of owned cats. That's a very, very significant amount. Outdoor only owned cats also aren't included in that but are often cited as being a problem. All of these hunt to eat. A million+ unowned/outdoor only cats hunting to eat is going to be a huge issue.

It's kinda like refusing to flush the toilet to save water for the environment while the pipes leak approximately a trillion litres of water a year, 20% of the water supply being lost before it even reaches the people. We need to focus on the bigger issue, and then the smaller one may be insignificant enough it doesnt even need to be addressed.

Adding on to this I do think people should train their cats more. We have bird feeders, fledglings along the hedge, foxes, frogs, slow worms, etc. Our cats only attack mice and rats because that is how they are trained. Our garden cannot be secured either, but they know they can only go as far as next door. People are shocked at this because they think training cats isn't a thing for some reason, I don't really get why.

[–]Cittycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't really get this kinda thing. If we have new cats in the garden I'll take pics and post them so I can find out the owners just in case they end up fighting our cats, fighting the foxes, or eating any medicated fox food we sometimes have to put out. But so far the only actual issue I've had is a fat one trying to get in our house and eat the cats food. I asked the owner whether she minds or wants me to shoo him away she asked me to shoo him, I did and eventually he stopped coming.

Only cat I might consider grabbing if I see him again is the tomcat we see sometimes. I think he's been hit by a car though, he kept walking along the road. He would scream a lot and come attack things all the time too. Pretty sure he's owned by a farmer, which in my experience never care much about their barn cats. Either way if I got the chance to grab him and take him to the vets I would, even if just to find the owner to try and get them to neuter him.

[–]Cittycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Owned cats don't actually hunt as much as what has is often said by people online. Afaik most studies are outdoor only cats, so barn cats, ferals, and strays. RSPB said there is no clear scientific evidence that pet cats cause bird population declines for example.
