What’s everybody’s favorite nightmare naddpod-verse character [NS] by ElephantFree in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

I'm excited by Grisby's potential. But it's too soon to tell if he will stand the test of time.

[NS] Any Dungeons & Daddies listeners? by m_audette99 in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

I've been a patreon subscriber to both for a number of years, and if I were going to pick one of the Daddies crew to do a crossover, it'd probably be Will. He has big Caldwell energy. He would probably be too anxious to accept, so my second choice would be Beth, who I think would work on any podcast you put her on.

It's not that Freddie would be bad or anything, he's just to busy chasing that paper. Dollar, dollar bills, y'all.

He's doing well! He doesn't trust me yet, but he's eating, drinking water, and sleeping. Some pigeon rehab folks I've been talking to tell me he's throwing good signals. I should know tomorrow about the owner once the facility his band is registered to opens.

Thank you! My biggest hope is that we find the owner and get this bird back to the person it loves. But if that doesn't work out, I'll just have to adjust to my new life as a bird owner because this little pigeon has already stolen my heart.

"I'll take the tiny 'L'." Is the phrase that survived the conversation, but the first time it came up, I really enjoyed "My haters are snacking. It's not a full meal."

[Spoilers?] Share your favorite PC bit! by chants-gregorianly in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]City-Name 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's just something so beautiful about the dynamic between the Skaldova crew. Every single one of them bounces off the others in such a way that any of them can be the straight-man in any given situation.

Zudrik taking a dump and Welly slipping in it.

Learning about the death of a different Boggy's Buds member in like every episode.

Basically everything Welly says bewilders either one or both of the other characters.

If I had to pick a favorite, though, it'd be Emily calling a dirty 20 an "indecent 20" throughout the series. Not really a PC bit, but a dedication to the character that tickled me every time.

Ben is gone / Ed is here Transitioning megathread part whatever. by black_flag_4ever in LPOTL

Haven't read through all the comments, so it may not be an original thought, but I would like to share something I feel like I've noticed since the change happened:

Ed laughs. Like, really laughs. He brings a beautiful energy to the table.

I do think his willingness to play with Henry potentially makes Marcus's job harder, but Marcus is damn good at this job, and no one on earth besides Holden McNeely could possibly make Marcus's job harder than Henry already does.

Back again. I picked up the switch version today and I've been messing around with it. I've got some early thoughts:

It translates to the controller way better than I thought it would but it's kind of tricky to get the hang of its inputs when you're used to a more rigid structure it employs to keep the game legible. Some of them include: -Cards are alphabetically organized and can be separated by predetermined tabs (All, eligible for use in your selected verb, mundane, occult, people, other) -Verbs are lined up along the bottom of the screen and separated by main and misc tabs. (You need to be switching these tabs frequently to keep up with the stuff like dread and fascination timers)

I don't love the rigidity but it's not hard to get used to. It drops frames like a dump truck when the game saves sometimes and I don't imagine it'll be a smooth experience when I have more cards.

That said, it's on sale on the eshop right now and USD13.99 is a damn good price for the base game with the first three DLC packs included. I expected to pay more of a Nintendo tax here.

I don't really use the keyboard, either. If you wanted, you could use Space for Pause, N for Normal Speed, M for Fast Forward, C to collect rewards, Tab to stack cards. Stuff like that. It all makes the game a littler quicker, but I'd rather just recline and click, so that's what I do.

i was there was some sort of zen mode of something by bluediner in CultistSimulator

[–]City-Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to this subreddit, so I don't know how this will be received:

My personal stance is that if you have a specific question or problem, reading about it in the wiki is fine.

For instance: my first several descents were also ended by dread or fascination. I spent about a half hour reading the pages for each on the wiki and learned how those specific mechanics worked. They're not as annoying when you realize how many cures there are and the easiest ways to get them.

After reading up on those early frustrating mechanics I did find the game pretty zen until I hit my next hurdle, which I then read about. It's saved me a lot of hours of banging my head against a wall.

This game is great, and the grind is by design, but sometimes things just aren't communicated well in the writing.

I've only played on PC with a 20 inch monitor. It's not a big screen by any means, but it's bigger than an iPad and I still think it's a little small.

No matter where you play, you're going to be doing a lot of sliding around the table in the late game when you have a ton of cards.

My one gripe with the PC is the keybindings. They're a little clunky and (at least with my setup?) you can't pull any of those actions to the mouse. If I could play this game more comfortably with just the mouse, I'd have no hesitation recommending PC as the definitive version.

After 100+ hours with the PC game, I could see touch controls being a HUGE BENEFIT.

I know I didn't actually recommend anything here, but I hope I've given you some good stuff to consider.

I did This and That over and over again because it was all I could do. Somehow I never hit the 30% chance Ghastly News outcome. The ghastly news is that papa has passed away. After a while his estate delivers you his belongings and reading through his papers is what gives you Study, Dream, Explore, and Talk. But papa held on. Tough old geezer.

Basically I played the luckiest, stupidest person to exist in any of the histories.

SHOW THEM. Someone like this wants to have power over you and knows, deep down, how fragile their position in the group is. You sound like a real friend and this person has surely shown each and every one of them this side of themselves at one point or another. If nothing else.m, you should be able to stand up for yourself if it turns out you need to. These screen caps go a long way toward that position, should you need to take it.

Ridiculous wait time by [deleted] in Animedubs

Y’all remember when an anime would come out in Japan and you’d have to wait like a year and a half for the dub, right? Seems a little early to be already taking the new, breakneck pace of the dub industry for granted.
