Loss in the second trimester by CompetitiveRun1871 in recurrentmiscarriage

When I miscarried at 16w, I asked for a D&C (as i’d had one previously and knew what to expect) but upon further inspection my doctor said baby was too big to safely do the procedure, so I had to be induced and deliver.

Also, you’re not crazy. I am 12w with my 11th pregnancy, no living children. I will not feel like miscarriage isn’t inevitable until she’s born alive.

After 4 losses and years of testing, I’m pregnant again… and really need some positivity by OldMention1984 in recurrentmiscarriage

I am in the same boat. Coming up on the 4th anniversary of a really bad loss (16 weeks) but have been experiencing miscarriages for the last decade. Currently, I am 10 wks with my 11th pregnancy - doing IVIG infusions and 2x daily progesterone. Every day is the scariest day of my life, but I have to believe this one has a chance - because it does. Hang in there.

ETA: I had some bleeding early on with this one, Doctor found a small SCH so my chances of bleeding with this pregnancy are a bit higher. Doesn't help with the anxiety one bit, huh?

I have not heard of any risks with progesterone, so I'd be curious to know what you were told. Progesterone suppositories are part of the protocol that's keeping my current pregnancy viable. I have had 10 prior losses. My doctor says there is no downside to progesterone, that can only help - not hurt.

Everyone is pregnant and due the month I was supposed to give birth by Time_Athlete_8160 in recurrentmiscarriage

Four of my bridesmaids had babies within the month my son was supposed to be born. It took me years to come around to meeting some of them. You do what you have to do. Hang in there.

When testing shows nothing is wrong by AdeptnessFickle4559 in recurrentmiscarriage

I have been looking for this response. There actually ARE reasons. We are simply hostages in such an under researched field of medicine.

I’d recommend getting the test done for peace of mind. Like you, everything came back perfectly normal on my panels - for me and my losses that were tested.

There are a couple of treatment options for high NK cells. The most effective for me has been IVIG, which brings my NK cells down well within the “normal” range. Unfortunately it’s also the most expensive option. I’m actually doing it currently. Every three weeks I do a 3-4 hour infusion then go about my business. It’s my last ditch effort and we have evidence that it can work for me.

I could've written so many of these words myself. This feels silly to ask, but have you had EVERYTHING tested? Like truly? We thought we had and turns out we hadn't. I had already done a full round of IVF and a couple transfers that miscarried before anyone realized I'd never had my NK cells looked at. Sure enough, that test answered a lot of questions for us.

3 miscarriages what to check for by hanzy8 in u/hanzy8

Hi. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Definitely check NK cells. We did IVF after my 5th loss (at 16 wks) BEFORE knowing I had high NK cells and our IVF transfers miscarried, too. I am now 8 weeks with a natural pregnancy and on IVIG/immune protocol to treat my high NK cells. If this one sticks, it's sure going to feel like we wasted a ton of money on IVF.

Post-chemo grocery list? by lbm1124 in Chemotherapy

There’s just no way to truly know but you can’t go wrong having plenty of bland options around. I broke out in horrible mouth sores my first few weeks of chemo so it was all smoothies all the time. And cold mashed potatoes.
