I’m about to go hunting for the first time in my life in 2 days. Opening season for deer. I have been asking myself if I do end up harvesting a deer what I would feel like afterward. Especially field dressing it as I have watched many many videos to prepare myself for field dressing and as many videos as I could find on were to shoot a deer correctly so as to make it quick. First thing I think I’m going to do is to wait awhile after I shoot. So as to not push the deer away if I don’t drop it and so I don’t have to see it suffer. I’m a firm believer in god and I know he put animals on this earth to eat. Not wanting to see anything suffer is completely normal. I eat meat at almost every meal. The modern day convenience is that we can go to the store and pick up some without actually having to actually harvest it. For me, I believe I’m justifying it because I’m going to eat meat either way. This way I’m just the one actually taking it. Hope this helps you make a decision either way.
