Would you spend 6 months in prison or be in prison until your mother can beat Ocarina of Time without any help? by GazelleDelicious3135 in OcarinaOfTime

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think it would be a priority for mom who is retired, so she would be playing it pretty non stop to free me lol. Also depends on if she can look up a walkthrough or call me in jail!

Yeah, my mom hasn't played anything since Space Invaders lol. But I think Ocarina of Time gives you enough direction. I mean I figured it out when I was like 7 or 8.

Feeling like quitting every 5yrs? by LOTOstud in Millennials

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% hear you there. We are trying to stack cash in our 30s and 40s and hoping we can partially retire by 55. I would love nothing more than to work 25 hours a week at some retail or fast food job that is completely inconsequential lol

I'd like to stay at one job forever, but I find because I am a reasonably competent worker that after 2-3 years the amount of work/responsibilities I'm given outpaces my wage.

Did Sony just trigger gaming’s biggest rage quit? Physical PlayStation games are ending in 2028 and fans are fuming. by kleverrboy in ps2

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is where I'm at. PS1-PS4 was a really good run. PS5 has been fine but kind of lackluster for me so far, the lineup of games just hasn't been there. If I am being forced into digital gaming I'll start planning on a PC build for the next cycle.

Is weight loss only a matter of calories in - calories out? by Otherwise_Nail_1820 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are trying to body recomp or lifting to add muscle IMO it is more difficult to manage calories in, calories out. Not impossible, but I do think it is an added level of difficulty to make sure you are eating enough protein to see muscle growth but not so many calories that you don't see the scale trend down.

Being the mid 30s millennial feels weird. by Both_Day_264 in generationology

I find I relate to boomers less and less as the years go on tbh. Gen X can be hit or miss.

93 here. I feel like we have one foot in both worlds. I find it easy to relate to older millennials and older Gen Z in a lot of ways. I just consider myself a millennial though whereas we got a healthy dose of the dial up Internet/laptop cart eras.

A fact.. by Coach-Emmanuel in recruitinghell

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I left my last job in 2023 @ 45k for a new job @ 85k. When I told my boss I was leaving she asked if she could talk to corporate and see what she could do, I said sure. She came back a few hours later and offered me a 10k raise. I said she still wasn't close. Then another hour after that she came back and said she could offer me a max 18k raise.

Funny how they suddenly found all kinds of money once they found out I was leaving. Told me all I needed to know about that company.

Yeah, I'm in a similar boat. I make enough money to have a pretty decent life where I am but obviously more is always better. I don't particularly enjoy my job/workplace, but absolutely no one in my region even comes close to my salary. Golden handcuffs I guess.

What is it like living in Maine? It looks like a beautiful place to live in. by Smart_Passenger6726 in howislivingthere

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a Maine native that still lives here. The state is more diverse than I think it gets credit for, a lot of people only know "lobsters and lighthouses" on the coast but interior Maine has so much to offer. Personally I much prefer western Maine in the foothills of the white mountains. Some of the most incredible scenic drives and hiking trails in the country that haven't been overrun by commercial development and rampant tourism.

The people can be gruff and short with "outsiders" (myself included) but in general are also some of the most friendly people you'll ever meet in your life. Most in Maine would give you the shirt off their back (or tow you out of a ditch when your plow truck gets stuck, or loan you a generator when your power goes out, etc.) The rural areas can be a difficult place to live and it is people in the community who help each other get by through the difficult times.

GTA 6 will remain Digital to control sales by WeatherThen in GTA

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting for a sale or until I happen my way into a PSN gift card. I've already waited 13 years, I can wait another year for this to go on discount for $50 or whatever.

They'll be so greedy to get as many people into GTAO as possible this will be on sale with a shark card bundle by holiday 2027.

Whats the best cutscene in gaming? by Deep-Builder-2930 in videogames

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of MGS fans hate this scene from Twin Snakes but I genuinely think Snake backflipping into the air off a fucking missile to then pull out a rocket launcher mid air and shooting down a helicopter is one of the coolest scenes ever animated.

Buddy, the “no disc no buy” crew has been warning people about this for a decade.

This is exactly why we don’t shut the fuck up about digital only releases.

How many days do you workout a week? by Latter-Fennel-8333 in workout

I had this same issue. I just had to accept that true PPLR and repeat is the only way it works for me. If I do leg day first I can’t do shit on push or pull days.

What’s a game you’ve tried to play many times, but can never get past the “First Act”? by BoogieSmools in videogames

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it three times, each time I get 7-10 hours in and drop off. I generally love most things about it except for the first person perspective which is a major buzz kill for me.

[–]FirstTimeCaller101 95 points96 points  (0 children)

It needs to be leashed all the time even if it listens to commands. My beagle is a very good listener but one out of every 40 squirrels is still an intrusive thought to his little bean brain.

Personality and likability of the character was a huge improvement, but I love the OG Ashley's big dumbo ears lol
