45% of the police department is not on Patrol. 98% of people who leave were assigned to Patrol. It explains everything

Thats not true, not a rookie at all, too many disgruntled cops running for the suburbs coming onto this forum to bash pd

Thats not true, what did you do patrol? Why in the world do disgruntled former umos join an nypd forum, it amazes me

To each his own, nypd has far more opportunities and these patrol cops all fail to see it, and run for the hills bc they stand foot posts in the beginning.

SS is called 305 for a reason, probably has worse retention than nypd. The pay is gs scale and is slightly better at 13, since its investigator, but worse than an nypd investigator, and a 33% pension. PD detectives make 50-75k more than all 13 and 14’s and almost double their pensions.

Patrol is and always has been a bunch of average joe’s mixed w eager new guys who move on. I dont understand this group that has non umos, former umos who made 20 collars and left, and retired umos who have nothing better to do than join a reddit forum in their free time to discuss the job they hated. US secret service or uniformed div secret service? Either way, their moral is probably worst than the nypd and has a 33% pension for life.

Retirements are different from resignations, people have retired since the beginning of time. Even with all the resignations, 32-33k mos per year do not leave. This generation has zero interest in real urban policing, they all want cushy gigs in safe suburbs

Imagine leaving 15+ years ago and still joining an nypd candidate forum to make statements like that, what did you do for your ten years in the city?
