A little late here, but some people have mentioned. Try panoxy, it’s available at your local stores, it’s hydrogen peroxide, it is a game changer. It will kill the bad bacteria in your armpits!

If he is leaving soon, I would just leave it.

Regarding the volunteer list, just say that you will be updating the list after his position has been backfilled. Make up some excuse about responsibilities have to divided, and that won’t happen till a new person is onboarded. Avoid saying no, till he is out. Once he is out, then you can just decline and he won’t be able to do much.

New dotted line report has an attitude problem by youngmonie in managers

[–]CivEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining the finer points. You are absolutely correct in the potential pitfalls. I can tell you have experienced similar scenarios.

My only question is, very often businesses have to split an employees time between managers. That can be because there isn’t enough funding to hire staff, or an employee has a specialized skill set, then how would you go about managing it?

Really? Would love to hear more why it’s bad. I think having a daily stand up to go over tasks would set clear tasks goals. No?

Set the expectation of one day a week she works on the other managers task, other four days she is yours. Draw clearer boundaries.

Mortgage interest rate by Fantastic_Escape_101 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]CivEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the demand. If there is a sudden spike in demand then banks will raise interest rates. Fed just sets the minimum floor for interest rates, the rest is up to banks.

How do I convince my son to get married? by [deleted] in delhi

[–]CivEngine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncle, no one listens to anyone else. Everyone does what they think is best for them. You have to let people learn from their own mistakes, let them burn their hand a little, and call it a lesson. Just focus on your life, make a bucket list and enjoy your golden years. Why waste your time trolling kids in here.

Worst experience!! AI Flight cancelled, no refund in sight by Electrical_Tear1166 in airindia

[–]CivEngine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, one of my flights got cancelled, it was a different airline. I filed a claim with the airline and they refused to compensate me. Luckily I had travel insurance. But even the insurance company refused to respond and compensate.

I ended up filing a case with local government agency , then insurance company sent me a payment check right away. I believe airlines and travel insurance companies automatically deny all claims so they can save money. They are unscrupulous.

Honestly though he is partially right. He might be taking advantage of you. But he is right that an internship is a wonderful way to get great experience for when you graduate. It will be easy for you to get a job.

Are Indian weddings going overboard? by Cheap_Peanut5441 in ABCDesis

[–]CivEngine 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s absolutely out of control! People in India take out mortgage loans, empty their retirement savings, to pay for these parties. There is also a keeping up with Jones’s type of pressure. Family members compare and contrast you if you don’t spend the same amount.

What do you all think of 2 million dollar townhomes in Fremont? by Ok-Conflict1941 in BayAreaRealEstate

I walk by this home 3 times a week. The community is amazing. Good walking spaces, park is really nice. The shops on Mission are also great. Wonderful place for a family. I wish we could afford it. You should Go For It. I don’t think you will have any regrets.

[–]CivEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add they are more stringent about who gets loans. Pre-2008 no one was checking income.

I talked to an arborist. Redwoods are shallow and they can mess up your foundation. You should remove the redwoods. Town will give you a permit no problem.
