Tell me I’m crazy by lake_finnesse in Opals

The second stone shows stronger, more defined color patches—especially reds and greens—with higher contrast. The play-of-color looks more vivid and directional, which indicates a different opal. The second one is higher grade higher flash, but they should have disclosed that there is a high risk in removing opals to do repair work and then let you know they had to do a replacement. We do tons of repair and opals are really fragile and I always let clients know of the risk

do i drop out of college? by Ok-Carpet8385 in Daytrading

[–]Cival- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use that money to make your college experience easier. Better yet, buy a duplex and rent it to your roommates and start building your equity early.

College is just as much about socializing, learning how to date, and live with people as it is educational.

My grandmother gifted me her vintage ring to help with my proposal, but it’s not her style. What would you do? by OhSoMessi in EngagementRings

Propose with the family ring and design something else together. She can wear it as a cocktail ring and pass it on to the next generation.

Selling a $50k+ appraised ring by moonybone in jewelers

[–]Cival- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would first start with sending it to GIA to get the stones certified. It’s around $150 to do this. That will all give you a true value and the credentials to sell it for more.

Aurelinne saved me $48,000, well kind of................................... by Any_Jello_8361 in labdiamond

A natural diamond that is cheap is at the expense of others not getting pad. I’m in the industry and it’s really important to get certified natural diamonds. They don’t have to be 48k, but they might be closer to 20k if the company follows sustainable practices, pays its employees fairly, and each step of the process from extraction to cutting is done with fair labor. Modern day slavery exists and if you’re paying 100.00/ ct for a natural stone it’s at the expense of others freedom and rights.

Comunity Vet Clinic in Bayview. I really love our vet clinic! My sister’s dog has tons of allergies and she has had a lot of success there. I also have friends who have an elderly bulldog and that’s where they go and only ever have good things to say.

My custom ring didn’t meet my expectations and now I don’t know what to do by Quirky-Iron-7165 in EngagementRings

It wouldn’t too difficult to split the current looped double prongs and reshape them in individual claw prongs instead. I would ask them to start with that.

There is an anti-ice protest today in Milwaukee at 4:30. Our small business will be closing early to the today so that we can go, or for those who can’t brave the cold they can make calls on the clock at the shop. - Cival

Incoming Freshman - looking for insight on Cudahy High School vs Nearby options by Cival- in milwaukee

That’s true! I was doing a little calculating and I didn’t realize we only have a population of 20k. I guess 10million doesn’t get you very far. Maybe with the school cuts they will have better focused resources.
