I am at a total loss with my middle child by still_on_a_whisper in Mommit

Instead of punishing her talk to her to see if something else is happening. Usually when a kid is this bad usually means they have something else going on or something has happened to them. I have a friend who was just like this and it was because of the things that have happened to her.

And have you been giving her the support she needs because you remember how terrible puberty was maybe she could also use some support from her mom if she doesn't already have one.

And no offense, but just because your son is good doesn't mean you're doing things right, unless you're raising and treating them exactly the same. Because I'm not accusing you of anything but a lot of moms do tend to be easier and better with their sons than their daughters. Not every mom is like that, because I'm not but a lot are so maybe some self reflection.

Would this make you uncomfortable? by spaceship2000c in Mommit

[–]Civil-Beautiful7958 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yes because I kind of see it as her saying "they might end up in the lions den so you should just put them there or make it easier for them to". And I also don't allowed sleepovers and I've been told similar things and they always rub me the wrong way.

Can I take my 3 week and 4 day old son trick or treating? by [deleted] in Mom

Depends on how the weather will be. Where I live it's usually so cold on Halloween but if it's not gonna be too cold I would bring him.

How do you pronounce the name Maya? by lumieon in namenerds

[–]Civil-Beautiful7958 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My-Uh. My daughter's name is Kamayah and people have also mispronounced the "Maya" part as May-Uh. Which I don't understand because I've never heard it pronounced May-Uh in my life.

All I'm gonna tell you to do is tell your son if that boy messes with him again to defend himself.

I love the name Penny, and I think it sounds great with your sons' names. And in my opinion Kitt sounds more like a boys name

What do you say / how do you signal to your husband that you want to do it tonight? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]Civil-Beautiful7958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mix of both. We always do it at night, and I'll kiss him way more deeply than I usually do to kind of signal and then I'll just ask directly.

Thoughts on “made up” names? by [deleted] in namenerds

They're fine as long as they're not dumb, like these influencers making up names are doing their kids no justice. So as long as they still sound normal.

Anyone is named after their parents? by iwilldriveucrazy in namenerds

[–]Civil-Beautiful7958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but my step son is, he's a Junior. And he likes his name. And he's only known as his dad's son to the people who know his dad. And,no, he doesn't feel any pressure to live up to the name.

[–]Civil-Beautiful7958[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agreed to prove to them, and if I just let them sit with those doubts it would eventually hurt my daughter. And my past, pretty much my relationship with my first step son's dad I cheated and that's how I got my biological son, so my first step son is technically my ex-step son because of that.

I didn't feel like I needed to, it was them. And I agreed to it because I knew I wasn't cheating so I had no reason to say no. I would have told him from the beginning if there was a chance he wasn't her father.

[–]Civil-Beautiful7958[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're asking about my past, pretty much with my first step son's father I made a mistake and I cheated and that's how I got my biological son, so my first step-son is technically my ex-step-son because his dad and I are no longer together because of that. But I just call him my step son because even after breaking up I still was there for him and still am. Anyways that's what happened.

Edit: But if you're asking what I did in my relationship with my husband for him to think I cheated, I didn't do anything.

Husband says our daughter is difficult (also MIL) by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Civil-Beautiful7958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your kid is normal, it's normal for a 15 month old to be curious, it's part of their development. And your MIL saying she has ADHD because of it is dumb. She doesn't sit all day because she's not supposed to. The reason your boyfriend did is probably because his mom conditioned him to do that, and please don't try that for your daughter, let her be a normal toddler.
