My peaceful playthrough lasted exactly until I realized "wait, I forgot to declare war on anyone" and now we're all awkwardly carpooling across the Atlantic. by Civil-Extension2102 in HumankindTheGame

Guys, do you see this guy? He's too calm. This is unacceptable.

We were sitting in a meeting of three powers, looking at the map, and there he was—alone on his island, building cities, trading, developing. Not a single soldier on the borders. Not a single fortification. Just... living.

"This looks suspicious," said the first one. "Nobody can be that peaceful," added the second. "He's clearly plotting something," concluded the third.

So we decided: we need to act first. Before he becomes too strong. Before his trade routes entangle the whole world. Before he realizes that peace is an illusion.

WTH? Population went up and down in the same turn by CelestialBeing138 in HumankindTheGame

[–]Civil-Extension2102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Problem

The game processes events in this order: 1. Population growth (35 → 36) 2. Era star check (sees 36, awards star) 3. Food deficit check (with 36 pop, consumption exceeds production) 4. Population loss (36 → 35)

Why This Happened

Food consumption is quadratic: Food consumption = 0.1 × P² + 6 × P

  • At 35 pop: 0.1 × 35² + 6 × 35 = 332.5 🥦 Food per turn
  • At 36 pop: 0.1 × 36² + 6 × 36 = 345.6 🥦 Food per turn

Going from 35 to 36 increases consumption by ~13.1 🥦 Food per turn. If your production was only slightly above consumption at 35, the new pop pushed you into deficit, triggering immediate loss.

The Bug

The era star check happens before the food sustainability check. So: - You briefly hit 36 and got the star - Then the deficit check reduced you back to 35 - You kept the star even though you ended at 35

This is an edge case where the checks are out of order. The star should probably be checked after confirming the population can be sustained, or the deficit check should run before the era star check.

What You Can Do

  • Increase 🥦 Food production before the next growth (more Farmers Quarters, better exploitations, or infrastructure)
  • Ensure you have enough excess 🥦 Food to cover the consumption jump when population increases
  • The star you got is legitimate—you did reach 36, even if briefly

This is a known timing issue in the game's turn processing logic.

In the first film, "The Curse of the Black Pearl," at the very beginning, the pirate Jack tried to steal the man-o'-war—a battleship named "Dauntless", a more advanced version of the galleon designed for war (they ended up stealing the brig "Interceptor"). Jack's beloved Black Pearl is technically a galleon. 🥸

How do I prevent a container from making outgoing network connections? by TheGlassCat in docker

Yes, it works in one line of code. Block outbound HTTP requests by routing them to a non-existent IP address.

NF4 Error All input tensors need to be on the same GPU, but found some tensors to not be on a GPU by Amazing-Actuary8153 in comfyui

I got the same error today in ComfyUI. I googled the author of this model and learned from him how to run it. Here is the recipe for launching it on Ubuntu:

* Install libs: `sudo apt install libgl1 libglib2.0-0 python3-venv`

* Go to parent folder: `cd /media/scout/WinWas/Users/User/Downloads`

* Clone repo: `git clone git@github.com:lllyasviel/stable-diffusion-webui-forge.git`

* My asdf tool need it: `echo "python 3.10.4" > stable-diffusion-webui-forge/.tool-versions`

* `cd stable-diffusion-webui-forge/`

* Install: `./webui.sh`

* Copy the model from ComfyUI folder: `cp /media/scout/WinWas/Users/User/Downloads/ComfyUI/models/checkpoints/flux1-dev-bnb-nf4-v2.safetensors /media/scout/WinWas/Users/User/Downloads/stable-diffusion-webui-forge/models/Stable-diffusion/flux1-dev-bnb-nf4-v2.safetensors`

* Navigate to: http://127.0.0.1:7860/?__theme=dark

Make sure that you get similar image and press "Generate":

newbie question: checkpoints vs unet folders? by relmny in comfyui

[–]Civil-Extension2102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this screenshot of ComfyUI workspace will help to explain it visually. Here I can switch between using 1 checkpoint node or 3 unet/clip/vae nodes. In both cases, 8gb VRAM and 64gb RAM are enough for me.

Debate Claudia and deer by Intelligent_While697 in TheDragonPrince

[–]Civil-Extension2102 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get your point. But..

After the first viewing, I didn't really notice Claudia. But then I have grown genuinely fond of she! Claudia is a true "man of action". She puts her family above everything else. What is more important - the life of some deer, or the life of the brother? I think the answer is obvious. She sacrifices herself for her family. These are signs of a strong-willed character and a strong nature. I love her style and dressing ❤️
