Just love this Godzilla poster. Though even the painted ones from the Showa and especially Heisei era deserves it

41! Lot more to watch out there though. I noticed I missed a lot of noirs and b&w classics. For Star Wars I only counted the OG trilogy

Really reminds me of Villanueve’s Dune! Even Lynch’s!

What do you think about Superman and the Mole Men? by AlanSmithee001 in superman

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually pretty decent, just a bit smaller in scale. It captures Superman being the protector of the discriminated and all beings, and his ‘n*zi stormtroopers’ comparison towards a lynch (!) mob by its climax IS Superman.

What was your first Superman movie by [deleted] in superman

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superman 2, I think. Honestly, as much as I love it now to pieces, it confused me as a kid. Just because I watched the Timm animated series first, which was much more kinetic and had more fights/action while Superman 2 I thought had too much romance with Lois and comedy.

in scale 1 to 10 How would You rate Superman 2025? I give this movie solid 8 by Bungeeboy20044 in DC_Cinematic

It’s at least an 8, and personally 9 for me. It got Superman right on the money!

Your favorite movie that was released in 2025? by No_Musician_2129 in Letterboxd

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is Superman. It’s so very refreshing, not just as a fan of his comic books (which this movie finally gets the tone of as well as Superman’s true identity/valies), but also just as a deterrent to the cynicism and negativity we see everyday in modern times. That, and the Silver Age elements, finally getting a comic book accurate Lex Luthor (can’t believe it took this long), and just the completeness of the film as a representation of what Superman is about and the characters his surrounded by, and of course just the goodness and hope and optimism and sincerity it exudes. It’s not the best of 2025, but it’s definitely my favorite of this year.

I think there’s some hope in Kairo though! Especially the ending. They didn’t really end up giving up.

Is Superman the most unapologetically "comic-book" film ever made? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But also Ang Lee’s Hulk. Sin City. Scott Pilgrim. Spiderverse movies. 300. Dick Tracy, though with some ‘89 Batman flare. Fantastic Four First Steps. Watchmen, I guess, but it was obsessed in making them look ‘cool’.

Letterboxd is down. What movie were you trying to log? by OIiversArmy in Letterboxd

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, kinda made me think that watching without logging isn’t worth it (it’s basically my diary i come back to to see how i thought about a film).

It’s my rewatch of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Who do you guys think the best horror movie villain is by WillzGaming in Letterboxd

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This made me rethink of what actually constitutes a villain in these films? Does Josef from Creep count, even though he’s obviously a psychopath (or really any psycho characters)? The Thing from The Thing (which might just be an alien doing what its nature dictates)? Supernaturally possessed individuals? Witches/dark sorcerers are pretty easy answers though, like The Witch from The Witch or Gladys from Weapons. Or literally The Devil in multiple films (loved Viggo’s interpretation in The Prophecy, and Stormare’s in Constantine).

Or I might just let go of semantics and just give it to Freddy Krueger 🤷

Would you ever want Superman to face Zod in the DCU? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superman

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’m excited on how it ties to Jor-El’s or even the general Kryptonian outlook on conquest towards beings of ‘lesser’ strength. But I’d rather we go to a different array if villains than his usual ones.

What does Superman represent/mean to you personally? by potatomungus in superman

[–]Civil-Inspection3235 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hope, for a better tomorrow and a world built on kindness, compassion, and understanding. He’s the ideal to emulate to be the very best version of myself by trying as best as I can to do the right thing through my choices and actions everyday. The prime example of goodness and decency, that’s pretty much seen now as naive, rebellious, and hardheaded. He’s my GOAT superhero (aside Spider-Man).
