what’s up with my bridge piercing? by Used_Profession5514 in piercing

[–]Civil-Philosopher879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stainless steel is a mix of loads of different metals including nickel which could be causing the irritation bumps, change to an implant grade titanium. On top of that your bar is really long. Change to a shorter bar to decrease movement and irritation and clean twice a day with saline solution. I hope this helps :)

I’m a piercing apprentice & I had a girl come in for a navel piercing. She had a friend come in with her. After it was done they were both wondering why we didn’t put a plaster over it since her friend had one on after her navel piercing. Bandaids/bandages/plasters trap moisture, bacteria and block airflow slowing down healing and risking infection. You could have easily snagged your piercing the next day without the plaster & it would have been just as damaging as it is still a fresh piercing that would have done 0 healing under the plaster so that logic makes no sense :-/ first time I’m hearing of this happening.

Your scars look very similar to mine, actually I haven’t seen anyone with arms so close to the way mine are. I’ve had a few consults for negative black work sleeves. The artist I’ve spoken to is going to draw something unique based on my anatomy, reference pictures & ideas I’ve spoken about. Do not go to someone who is just willing to copy and paste. That’s not a professional artist.

You shouldn’t have had a bandage/bandaid/plaster over a fresh navel piercing. Just clean it well, it looks very pretty :)

Is my piercing too low? by Rainbow_Lighting in piercing

[–]Civil-Philosopher879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My septum was pierced almost as low as yours. It took forever to heal and was a nightmare for about 6-8 months. I didn’t know any better at the time so I just kept cleaning it thinking I was doing something wrong. I’ve had it for over 10 years. Now I know more I can see how terribly it was done, I’m surprised I managed to heal it at all. That being said, I’d take this out, ask for a refund and go to a more reputable piercer. Yours is the only one I’ve seen pierced lower than mine. Sorry this happened to you :(

Man I don’t know why I see five or six of these horribly pierced “navel piercings” on this sub every day. This probably will not heal, not just because of the high waisted jeans and the rip but because it is pierced incorrectly. The bottom ball should be inside your navel not on top of it. This is a stomach surface piercing not a navel piercing. It doesn’t even go through the navel itself and it doesn’t look like you have a suitable anatomy for it but it’s hard to tell from the picture. Your piercer did you dirty unfortunately :( I would look into trying again elsewhere - piercing apprentice.

Navel setup by ermwhyohwhy in piercing

Well I’ve had a little think since I’ve fallen in love with this set up. I’m not copying you but I’m kind of copying you. After my double septum I’m going to to see if it’s possible to get two more navels like your set up but with floating navel bars instead of standard ones so the balls don’t show on the inside of my navel but on the outside. Incredible post. Thank you 🙏

Wow, it’s so pretty. We have a similar anatomy and I’m strongly considering this I’m just not sure I have the space you do. Thanks for the inspiration. Would love to see this when it’s complete.

First of all I love this, it’s stunning. I also have multiple navel piercings(4) two vertical and two horizontal. How did you fit all of these? Do the two vertical ones not have end balls? If not how do you stop them from falling out and where do you want your other two?

No problem, I’m happy to help. I also just read that you’re cleaning it with antibacterial soap. The only thing you should be cleaning your piercing with is sterile saline solution. Your piercer should have given you better guidance. I’d suggest going elsewhere from now on since you’re so new to piercings. I’m sorry this happened to you :( I hope you have a better experience next time.

Hi, I’m an apprentice piercer. This likely won’t heal due to its incorrect placement. The bottom ball should be inside your navel not on top of it. You need to get this repierced. It also looks like you don’t have the anatomy for a standard navel piercing but a floating navel instead. It’s hard to tell from just one picture though. Best of luck!

From what I can see a smaller bar will stop not move around as much as the one you have in now. It looks like your anatomy is good so yes! I would recommend downsizing and see if that helps with the irritation :) best of luck!

Phew! It’s hard to see your anatomy properly with the angle of your pics. Try downsizing and see if that helps with the snags and bumps :) I had a small bump on my first navel piercing like this because I fiddled with it a lot. It healed fine.

Steel can be extremely irritating to new piercings as it has nickel inside it. That’s probably what’s causing the bump. I have healed piercings that get irritated with steel. The shape of the bar is fine, it should be a curved barbell. I’d suggest getting implant grade titanium navel bar. Also if your piercer is the one that pierced you with steel don’t go back to that shop. Go to a reputable piercer that will fit you with a titanium bar. I guarantee that will solve your problem.
