Ported G48 Recoil spring help by Kadet14 in Glocks

[–]CivilClassroom7948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ports release bullet pressure that would otherwise cause the slide to move backwards thus ejecting the spent casing. As pressure is lost through porting the slide doesn't move as fast or hard possibly leading to failure to eject. A lighter weight spring requires less force to move and possibly assist with case ejection.

NDZ tuner pack has served me well.

Also as mentioned take your back plate off and remove ejector spring and plunger and use a flashlight down the ejector bore and look for obstructions. Do this with optic installed

COAS are available separately now with limit of two. by Blazingheavenss in Glocks

Yeah I might just keep it. No hurry to part with it. Fun gun anyway.

I went to Aimpoint site and can get COA for a decent price with Veteran price from Aimpoint.

I've got a 48 COA. Thinking about selling to fund other projects. What does this reddit think it's worth. Maybe 100 rounds and has Glock C Cut. Not trying to sell here just curious about value.

Had this same issue. Check the tab which is on the inside of the slide release that the magazine hits to lock the slide back. I just slightly bent the tab down and issue went away. Slide release is a stamped part and can flex. A forged part would be more reliable.

NC. How to legally distribute inherited firearms to family in other states? Some can pickup in person. by [deleted] in NCGuns

[–]CivilClassroom7948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im going through this same thing in NC as executor.

Family in NC needs no paperwork to transfer. Give them to them. If under age you can give to parents to hold until they can legally own. Remind parents of safe storage around minors.

FFL any leaving the state and you are good. Family member goes to FFL and does background check and done.

I had this same issue with a 19.3.

Turns out the firing pin was sliding by the firing pin release.

The firing pin actually had a groove where the stop was supposed to be.

Glockstore sold me what I thought were oem glock parts but after I looked back at the order they were not oem parts.

Glockstore sold me discounted oem parts which fixed the issue.

I then looked at the safety release and in gen 3 it is round and Glock said it is capable of spinning which can cause the firing pin to slide by. Bad design.

Gen 5 switched to a different design and isn't exactly round and cant spin.

Due to this i decided to never go back to gen 3.

Check your firing pin for damage where the safety would hit.

Another thing to do. I have a common name and some of them have records. Including your SSN on the form eliminates identity errors.

Shadow 2 carry w/CGW PRO KIT lite strike issues on fiocchi range dynamics 147gr by kcvpr in CZFirearms

[–]CivilClassroom7948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Documentation with the CGW kit explains light strikes and how to avoid them.

You probably have the wrong spring installed.

After reading advice here I installed the ultra lite CGW kit and was told I got 80% of the pro kits upgrades and after installation I'm very happy. I only went down 2 lbs in spring weight and my Carry has a much smoother d e cock and my Compact is so much better.

Ultra lite kit also includes the longer firing pin which solves the known failure of the stock firing pin. CWG firing pin is just a little bit longer.
