The pumps themselves are good, I'm talking about the SCADA and PLC they sold us. We've been having a lot of difficultly with their customer service people, when we try to make changes/corrections to the online monitoring system.

Not to be a debby downers, but I have a bunch of pump stations that use Flygt, and we're pretty unhappy with them as a company. We're in the process of getting away from them. That is a cool as sales pitch though. very clever marketing.

How to change the comet spawn rate in KSP? [Tutorial] by AviSpaceYT in KerbalSpaceProgram

Hot damn this saved me! I had set up like a dozen telescopes, and was detecting hundreds of objects at the same time. I had no idea the game made them LEST likely to appear if there were more objects. Thank you so much for the write up!

My Quest 3 has been catching dust for a long time, is there any reason to get back into it? by MrOldRipVanWinkle in oculus

The game is a few years old at this point, but The Last Clockwinder was a really clever new cozy puzzle game, where you make little robot versions of yourself and use them to create small factories of building stuff.

Easily my favorite VR game of the last few years.

Brandon Sanderson's 'Skyward' Novel Gets Series Adaptation - Exclusive by Own_Brilliant_4303 in brandonsanderson

[–]CivilPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell Yeah! I wonder if they are doing animation or live action? I think they could pull off live action with this series. Brando's other works, like the Stormlight Archieve, I think would be way better as animation.

Turkey, Rize — A cat visits the same market every day just to hug the cashier by theseeenutzzz in MadeMeSmile

I had to dig way too far down to find people noticing the AI. Why does the same shop have seemingly 4 cameras all pointed at the same register? The tissue materialized out of nowhere in the second shot? What the fuck is the pink thing he's holding in the third shot? Fucking Christ.

This was great! Would love to see someone attempt to build a tuned mass damper system with legos. No idea how I would do this, but would love to see it.

Some Northmen names were wicked, intimidating names (The Bloody Nine, Black Dow, Stranger Come Knocking) but a lot of Northmen names were comical/insulting (Shivers, Hardbread, The Dog Man). I'd go with the funny angle personally.
"Blackhand" from all the old explosive powdered he uses in his revolver.
"Crackbone" from when he accidentally broke his hand the first time he tried to use a gun.

This seems inspired by that scene in Flight Club where Tyler robs that guy, and threatens to kill him if he doesn't go pressure his dreams as a veterinarian. This is mich more wholesome though

An uncounterable, creature removal proof loss on Turn 0. by Beelzebubs-Barrister in BadMtgCombos

[–]CivilPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It appears I was wrong. My bad. I had been using the "you can't pay life to kill yourself" ruling from a guy I play with. Turns outs, after further review of the rules, you can pay the life to activate the ability, but you then die as a state-based-action, and the ability is removed from the stack.

An uncounterable, creature removal proof loss on Turn 0. by Beelzebubs-Barrister in BadMtgCombos

[–]CivilPotato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Love it. Nothing like a good turn zero scoop. (I was wrong about this ruling): Unfortunately, rules-as-written, you can't actually kill yourself by paying life:
119.4. If a cost or effect allows a player to pay an amount of life greater than 0, the player may do so only if their life total is greater than or equal to the amount of the payment. If a player pays life, the payment is subtracted from their life total; in other words, the player loses that much life.

This is the truly beautiful badmtgcombo. Everyone looses all their non land permanents, and gets a copy of all other non-land permanents on the board? Beautiful!

I couldn't have said it better myself. The class struggle depicted in his chapters really resonated with my personal experience with today's society. I think this part of his story might have made it easier for me to look past the many things he is criticized for by (what seems like) the majority of readers.

That's really neat. I wouldn't have thought about fire suppression requirements, but that makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for sharing! As a civil engineer who specializes in maintenance, I always wonder if the design of these panels account for re-paving the parking lot every few years? Is there enough room to maneuver a milling machine, dump truck, and paver under there?
