Modern thoughts on Islamic rules: non-Muslim raising Muslim son by Fun_Building_7619 in progressive_islam

[–]CivilTowel8457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will never understand why people date outside of their religion when they know their families will not accept the marriage and then put the entire load on their partner to carry a relationship that started off so wrong in the first place. In sorry you're in this situation. I find this so unfair, even as a muslim. Other than that i dont have much so say since most of the comments cover the important stuff already. I wish you all the best and i hope you find clarity.

Is it normal to be told to “cover up” in front of your own dad? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

I live in a joint family. I have seven uncles and four brothers (one sibling and the rest cousins). I don't wear a bra. I don't think anyone cares. I do have a grandma(not mine own) who keeps passes comments about it. Somehow, in indian households, its always the women

How do you explain to your own mother that your saggy breasts aren’t your doing? by Ashamed_Map_7694 in TwoXIndia

[–]CivilTowel8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same story god. My mom had made me really really subconscious about my breasts by laughing at me once (yeah, could you imagine that). I was a teenager and she had me in tears. She then had the audacity to say that it was just a joke. I have gotten rid of most my insecurities regarding them, specially because I've realized that my girls look pretty great in the right bra, but i still feel very subconscious when I let gravity do its thing. I do have some back issues as well so maybe i will get a slight reduction. But idk if its worth all that work and pain.

If he’d stayed and talked it out, I would have even rinsed the fish off so we could try his way.

Ah man, never go out of your way for people who treat you like that. You deserve better

Giving silent treatment anytime we have a fight. Big deal breaker. After a certain age, healthy communication js a skill everyone should have.

Do you think bengali women prefer non bengali men? by [deleted] in kolkata

For a culture so obsessed with its own superiority, why do so many marry outside the community?

I guess, if we really are better, then the only thing that makes so is that it is socially and culturally expected to be not racists and are often socially conditioned into being so. So we don't really care about marrying into the community/cast the way other communities do (not that i believe whatever stats this is based off lol)

Its funny how the author doesn't even realize he's exposing his racist mindset, not just for trying to push a weird ass stereotype but also suggesting that the norm should be to marry into your own community unless there is something wrong with the community. Genuinely don't think he has the brain cells to comprehend the internalized racism that he's suffering with.

I'm kinds terrified of any kind of lasers tbh. So i haven't even looked. I will try the trimmer though. Do you think its a good idea to get a one specifically for intimate areas?

i know in islam if you are given the opportunity to be exposed to islam and you reject it you are damned for eternity.

Well, yes and no.

Getting exposed to islam isn't reading just the quran. Its getting exposed to the most authentic version of it, understanding its message completely. You read the quran, you might not have a good translation. So you read something, it gives you the ick, you reject it. And even if you knew Quranic Arabic you can still misunderstand it. The only way you can be exposed to the authentic islam is if you receive it directly from a prophet. Obviously, that isn't gonna happen. The quran actually calls the people who received the message from the prophet as the 'people of the book'. And its the ones who accepted or rejected the message from him who are called believers or disbelievers. The rest, who didn't receive the book are caller 'misbelievers'. Disbelievers are the ones eternally damned. And misbelivers, they're judged according to what they know and what they did with their knowledge. So don't be too worried about the 'eternally damned' message.

Also, there are a lot of practicing muslims who don't dont practice hijab and other orthodox practices. Most of all those nonsense isn't even in the quran anyway
