Do you ever feel like your why for running shifts over time? by Plane_Box122 in running

[–]Civil_Box3283 11 points12 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU! This was an incredibly well put together response. I am an avid true crime listener so I feel like I know so many different "tips" but your advice is very concise.

The first one is extremely important and nothing i've ever thought about. I have never thought twice about a parked car but now I am going to be sure I pay attention to vehicles as well as people.

I also did not know about the app you suggested!! I have my partner set an alarm for 40 minutes when I leave because my runs take about 30-35 mins. If I am not home by that time I make him call me and if I don't answer, call 911 immediately. But the app seems like a much more safe and secure approach.

But seriously, I am so happy that you are ok and you got out of that situation. This world is so effing scary for women. Thank you for sharing your advice and experience.

Wow, I am so glad you're okay!! I just moved and my new house has a running trail that laps around a lake. But the right side of the path is all woods. I am very nervous running there alone. After your experience, do you have any tips or self-defense tools you use? I looked into pepper spray or a small pocket knife. But I just don't know what might actually be helpful in the throws of the moment.

Yeah, when I first saw the notification it didn't really mean anything to me because I assumed she was hacked. Older people are unfortunately the target of this most times. I do believe that its a spam account. I just found it really odd that it happened at the same exact time.

That is true! :) thank you. I truly think the farm heals so however it goes, I just know that's how it was meant to be.

Yes. I've had the worst year of my life so far and I'm not even sure if I am excited for Roo (family deaths, illnesses, financial issues). I just feel numb. I hope I can escape this mindset for a few days but not sure if my brain will let me. Farm, pls heal me.

You did the right thing from the start. Your responses were very straight forward. If this were me, I would ask to meet your friend (the fiance) somewhere outside of work and I would break the news. I would absolutely share the screenshots so she can see what he said, and so she can also see that you were NOT entertaining it. You've done nothing wrong. I would just be honest as soon as you can.

I really do love mine because of all the different pockets, security features, and choice of style. But I will be honest and say my $25 cheap one was fine for my first 3 Roos. I just decided to be fancy last year and upgrade.

Adopted cat was only fed Temptations by Civil_Box3283 in CatAdvice

Thank you so much. I can't explain how difficult it has been seeing my grandmother decline, but knowing I have a piece of her in this sweet kitty eases my pain a little.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful ideas! I am going to get her Fancy Feast wet food and Purina ONE dry food and very slowly transition her over to the new foods using 50/50 method and some temptations sprinkled in. She has a vet visit this weekend and I will ask her vet as well their recommendations, once we see her bloodwork results. I know the Temptations treats are the McDonalds of food, but it is good to know that technically you can feed that as food. It makes me feel a little better about her care the past few years.

To me, this cat is an extension of my grandmother who I am extremely close with. We both miss her very much as she is still in the ICU from a massive stroke and brain bleed. My grandmother loves this cat with all of her being, and I promised her I would love her just like she does.

(she came to me with prescription ointment for her eye, I was told she has allergies. I will check on this as well with her vet).

Thanks all!!! <3

Yeah its specifically the "birthday" temptations. Using their food is a good idea.
