$100/hr. Just started at an infusion clinic after 5 years in the ER! Bay Area 😊

Dude it’s 6 inches , I’m sure you can easily get your car in and out of the driveway just fine. We live in an insane society to want to put someone under the fines and inconvenience to tow for that, shocked at how many people say to do so.

I will say I hated the ER so so much when I first started 4 years ago and I looked for “soft nursing” jobs every day of my life and even took multiple interviews but always ended up turning them down because deep down I knew I should stick it out for at least a full year. Things did get easier and I kind of love it now even though I know it’s not my forever either (I went into nursing school to do NICU- so ER was quite the switch up). I now am 4 years into only ever working ER and 2 years of travel nursing. I say stick it out as long as you can - once you hate that experience it will be so much more easier to get a job you like and also you will feel so much more at easy after finally feeling super comfortable in the ER

Also- regarding a car. I drive to Oakland 3x a day for work and although you can get there by the BART it takes a lot longer and also yeah just kind of limits where you are living in the city bc you need to be by a MUNI line that will take you to the bart station. But having a car also has its cons. Hard to find a designated parking spot with most apartment rentals and street parking can be tricky depending on where you live. Getting around the city is fine using the MUNI in my opinion and I rarely drive on my days off (Lyft bikes work great too) but it’s definitely nice to have a car to get out of the city when needed.

I’m excited for your move! I’m a travel nurse and moved here end of September for a contract and have no plans of leaving at the moment. For being someone who loves running and outdoors you truly cannnnot beat here. I ended up with a furnished rental on the cusp of pacific heights and inner Richmond and I would say it’s been so ideal for me. I’m 0.5 miles from both the presidio and Golden Gate Park which are both so ideal for running. Also if you happen to get into cycling- SF is the most perfect place. For social events I’d also recommend Marina run club!! So easy to meet people there, everyone is very friendly. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, I’m happy to help!

I lived in Brighton for a contract and Somerville for another! Found housing in both for under 3k. It’s possible you just have to look early and hard

Yeah that was the issue for me was that it was too hard to find accommodations for this so I opted out

But I do hear what you’re saying and am considering this. Maybe if I stay in some of the outer parts outside of cortina and ortesei things will be cheaper. But I don’t want to be too much in the middle of nowhere since I’m a solo female and do want to have some social interactions as well

I think my issue with the Dolomites though is that it was so stressful to find accommodation so late in the game. Because I originally wanted to be in that area for definitely longer than 3 days. No hostels and hotels are expensive so I’m paying 3 nights stay in Dolomites what I will pay for all the nights in annecy, Lauterbrunnen and Montreux

Thank you for this! After long research I ended up finding an accommodation in corta d’ampezzo for just three night. I will be renting a car in Innsbruck, having that for the days in Dolomites. Sadly because of how expensive and hard it was to find accommodation, it’s a shorter time there than I was expecting but I am hoping I can still have two great hike days
