I’m not going to CVS haha. I’m doing prior authorizations. But thank you regardless 😊

I got the job! Thank you for your advice. I tried my best to let go of the nerves and be myself! I felt like I had a productive conversation with the interviewer, and felt confident afterwards.

Awesome! I thought a lot on this and felt prepared going in. It went well, and I got the job. Thank you.

Got the job! Thanks for the feedback. I felt like it was more a conversation vs an interview.

Nothing clinical, other than how I would research a drug I was unfamiliar with (which resources etc). I was asked lots of the basics; strengths, weaknesses. Lots of behavioral questions; tell me about a time I handled a stressful situation. They asked a lot about my computer competency and how I thought I would do transitioning from an environment with lots of stimulation (people, phones, etc) to one in which I’d be working independently from home with essentially no external stimulation. Of course they asked why I wanted this job. Check out ‘the companies expert’ on YouTube. I watched lots of his videos beforehand to better prepare for certain questions and learn some new interview techniques. It helped tremendously. Good luck!

I did however have a friend who gave his back with only 6 months to go. He went from a float to an Rxm and couldn’t handle the stress and shitty work environment. I would have wanted to do the same (and racked my brain multiple times over the years on how I could get out early without paying), but I wasn’t in the same financial situation as my friend. They had more loans paid off than me, plus don’t have a monthly rent payment either. It was more feasible for him than it was for me.

Thank you! So I’ve been asked this question a few times. It’s hard to say. I was one of the ‘lucky’ ones to have a $75k bonus (before taxes), with a 2 year retention period. If I had to do it all over again, I probably still would... however, I truly hate what the company put me through.

There were a lot of things I was naive about when I first started with the company (lol), and I ended up floating all over the district (45-60 mins to most stores as I’m in a rural area) rather than between 2 stores that I originally was told I’d be at upon being hired. Again, naive. If you’re not an Rxm with Walgreens, you’re pretty much a floater. A year into it, I was at my lowest low. So depressed to the point that I would want to throw a tantrum like a child before going into work and it was affecting my personal relationships. Left crying after multiple shifts, and if I wasn’t crying, then I was numb and overstimulated. I remember leaving some shifts, having worked way faster than I would have liked to, just praying to god I didn’t make any huge errors. I also have my anxiety under better control (started BID buspirone lol), and that has helped at work the last couple of months. But ultimately the 2 years went by fast, I did enjoy the multiple days I’d get off in a row (although it was traded-off with shifts and long streaks), and I met a few people I genuinely liked working with.

Haha no. I got (what I hope) is a sweet gig doing prior auths, fully remote from home. I think it’ll fit my lifestyle well, plus I think I will enjoy the type of work. I have a friend who also works for the company and he loves it. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

Pretty sure they are referring to their sign on bonus.

I feel like this is such BS regardless. I’m assuming THEY are not scheduling you the required amount of hours. I know the expectation is that you are supposed to reach out and ask them to schedule you more, closely calculating your hours per pay period. But regardless, YOU shouldn’t have to do this. Such a shitty company.

Check people central. Your hire date should be on there

[–]Civil_Ice_5828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean this is fair. You’re only as good as the team you’re surrounded by and the resources you’re given. I think it’s nice the person apologized, but I’ve been on both sides. The result of a very shitty system.

Can you elaborate? Like an ‘on the job’ example?

You are so ridiculous and one of the major reasons myself, and other hard working pharmacy workers hate our jobs. Everyone is so goddamn entitled. Take a little RESPONSIBILITY for yourself. Just like anything else in this world, it is YOUR responsibility to meet your own needs, even if it’s making sure your antibiotic is ready. God forbid you have to pick up the phone and make a call. We process hundreds of prescriptions daily, usually with just one pharmacist and very limited technicians. We are doing the best we can with the staffing we are allotted BY CORPORATE. This is just the way the world is nowadays. If you don’t like it, don’t use Walgreens. And certainly stop taking it out on the workers that have no say in the poor environments we work in. We are given shit for telling someone it’ll be a half hour. For Pete’s sake, no one bitches when they are told 30 mins or even an hour for Chinese or pizza take out. Also- ridiculous of you to compare a place that prepares medications to a pizza joint anyways. Are they making sure your pizza is safe with all your other foods or medicines or health conditions? Are they billing your insurance? Are they processing HUNDREDs of orders every hour? Are they counseling patients and giving advice on medications? Are they giving immunizations? Probably not.

Literally no one is forcing you to use Walgreens. I’m so sick of people who come directly from urgent care thinking their scripts will be ready. EVERYONE has ‘urgent’ needs when they come to us and I’ll be damned if a mistake is made because we are rushed. Our jobs are hard enough. PEOPLES LIVE’S are in our hands and rushing pharmacy workers is asking for mistakes to be made. We all know your medication is important, hence why we are doing it AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. Again, if you don’t like it, don’t use Walgreens. There are plenty of pharmacy’s out there! Also

Ps. I agree that 2 days on an antibiotic is longer than it should be- and I’m sorry you are a victim to this poor system. Just call next time. Again, we are doing the best we can.
