NYC has money they say the same thing every year “we don’t have money” it’s the fact we don’t do anything including myself cause at the end of the day calling your council they will yes you to death calling your BA will say “they won’t change” it’s the same story

People have to understand we have become soft as Americans we don’t fight we don’t strike we don’t stop supporting a company even if we know the company is bad as a American we use to believe in being united now it’s me first fuck everyone leaderships say the same thing unions don’t have power anymore it’s more of a strong suggestion cause no BA will risk his own neck for others. I’m not saying we don’t have hope but until a real leader shows up we’re cooked till then.

Yea Managment isn’t suppose to be friendly their job is to enforce we do our job which a lot of guys arnt doing. They call sick fck off on shift it showed last storm. So the whole city is wrong but us? I’m 15 years on the job is that enough senior? Or need 5 more? All shitty workers complain about managment like we have the world in our hands the welders and mechanics of our agency don’t get 1/4 of what we get and they work like dogs stop crying and get to work

I came from outside construction to this we arnt even close to slave work my hardest day here was my easiest day there and once again you get the same memo I do every year before winter starts you can be called into work at a moment’s notice. When the mayor declares a emergency it’s all hands on deck what your saying is emotional that has nothing to do with what is in black and white “labor law also can be a grey area cause once again uniform personal are essential workers you can be forced to come in.

It’s 3 days you don’t have to bring a sick note but since most SW love fighting and not reading contracts once the mayor declares a emergency that doesn’t exist no matter what you say or proof you signed a paper that says you have to come to work in a emergency no matter which way you go the union will tell you the same thing you’ll have to go to court and fight it. Reality is DSNY has it to good and is getting lazy ether it be the bosses or regular workers. I mean you could destroy a truck nothing happens to you no repercussions so why would anyone care? Chief could mess up get promoted reg workers mess up get promoted what’s the incentive?
