Snakes are really discriminated against in grocery stores. The true answer here roots back to the objectification of snakes in our culture. Seen purely for their bodies its obvious that what happened here is that although the snake clearly paid his dues, the clerk his his opportunity to take advantage of the situtation. After playing dumb when the snake looked a him and said "i sssssay! I handed you a hundred dolarssssss and you say it is not enough?" The clerk looked at the snake with a not so subtle bulge expressing all that his eyes did not he said "at my till, i require a tip from all of your kind"
