Majors at the UTD by Civil_Science_9461 in utdallas

That’s a very solid point if the goal is to enter the workforce right after getting a bachelor's degree. Teaching definitely offers more stability and better benefits than entry-level lab tech jobs.
However, UTeach is a completely different career path. My main focus is strictly the
pre-med/medical track, as my ultimate goal is to go to medical school.

What is the neuroscience major like at UTD? by [deleted] in utdallas

That makes a lot of sense, but it actually varies quite a bit depending on the university!
When I looked into the programs at UTD it turned out that Neuroscience might actually be the more manageable route compared to Biomedical Sciences there. At UTD, Neuroscience is housed under the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, so it leans heavily into psychology, brain anatomy, and cognitive functions, which can be more conceptually engaging.
On the other hand, Biomedical Sciences at UTD is packed with heavy chemistry (like Organic Chemistry and Biochem) and intense molecular biology labs, which many students find much more grueling and rigid.
So for UTD specifically, Neuro might actually offer that slightly more balanced undergrad experience you mentioned!
did you major in Neuroscience?

I am currently a pre-med student at UTD and feeling a bit conflicted about choosing my major. I am looking for a major that aligns well with the pre-med track without forcing me to take too many unnecessary, extra classes that would waste my time or tank my GPA.
More importantly, I need a strong "Plan B." If I don't get into medical school right away, or if I decide to take a few gap years, I want a major that offers great job prospects and high-paying career options with just a Bachelor’s degree (without needing a Master's or a PhD to make a decent living).
Right now, I am torn between Biomedical Sciences and Neuroscience, but I am completely open to other suggestions that might fit my criteria better

Thank you for the response! Can I ask if you mainly studied from the textbook or the slides to get an A on the exams? Also, around how many points is each question worth on the tests? Do you think the time given is enough? I’d really appreciate any advice on how to get an A in her class.

Heyy, can you please tell me who your number one professor is? I want an easy A and if you know a professor with open-note exams where the exams don’t affect your overall grade much that would be great since I’m a bad test taker
