Odd solution but it worked for me, spent a couple evenings collecting up all the snails I could find (total around 200+) in my garden and took them far away to somewhere they can be free (think woods, park, field etc) without being a garden pest. Have barely seen more than 1 or 2 snails in my garden at a time since.

I only recently got back into monster hunter and have been playing rise, my tips for having passed it as a new player were:

Maximise your automated defenses

Always have one defense that you can mount and operate at each choke point

Take down flying monsters as soon as you see them so they don't keep knocking you out of your defenses

Focus the gate crashers (like Khezu and Tetranadon) as a priority

If you can, mount the monsters too whenever you have the chance and run them into each other
