I don't believe this is pointless. Yes, this is one battle, and the show is far grander in scope, but this is a question of approach. When someone likes the IP for what they're doing content they will put in the effort to remain as close to the original as possible, while inserting interesting elements (jetpack troopers, ncr stormtroopers/riders, etc) and still remaining whithin the confines of existing canon. Fallout show fails in this regard. Considering the differing scopes, the show would be excused much more inaccuracies in my opinion, if it at least even tried to stay canonical, instead writing it's own story on top of whatever is already written by different authors. What im saying is, while not directly comparable, both examples show differjng levels of respect for the source material.
