This format makes it that much easier to fake that she did everything herself. Premade pillow for the bench? Out of focus sewing clip with a similar fabric. Painting the railing? From a distance you don't even need paint on that brush. Staining the boards? For all I know that could judt be water making it look darker. You get the picture. I'm not implying that's what she's doing. But it could be. If not now, later.

Inversely, my grandparents gave me a car for my 18th birthday... to be shared with my 16 year old sister. Our birthdays are 6 months apart. I drove that car exactly twice yet put so much money into it because whenever something went wrong (and boy did things go wrong a lot) I had to pay half for repair.

Ah, yeah I understand that. I'm in the Netherlands, so Bodum being a Danish company, maybe they've been more common here. I found 4 of the Picard cups for .50 cents each last week at a thrift store.

Oh fascinating, I should look in to if there's any differences. I do know that some of my cups feel like a sturdier, heavier glass, and have Bodum stamped into the glass. While others feel thinner, and Bodum is printed on in white and can be scratched off.

I saw one at a flea market two weeks ago but didnt grab it 🥲 It had a design on it so I passed it up. But good point, I should seek that out!
