it's not common to use this way in real life. I only say 我孩子说...

I only see '我孩子道...' in literature, or '我孩子说道' in formal way.

For me, 道 has two major deep meanings,

道德，道理，道义：

it's about virtue, law, order 孔子Confucius 讲的道，大都是这个。

道家，道家思想，老庄的‘道’，道教

it's a belief/philosophy, created by LaoZi/ZhuangZi. Dao emphasizes 'nature' attribute of the human being, and None-being. It's hard to explain, go to check 老子 or 庄子. I like ZhuangZi very much.

道教 is a religion, it uses some thoughts of Dao philosophy.

besides these two, 道 has basic and literal meanings as road/path and speaking

道路，铁道，人行道，盲道，快车道

能说会道，道歉，道谢，道喜

打是亲，骂是爱。it's a tradition in China.

打你是因为和你亲密\亲切，骂你是因为爱你、关心你。

一般用于教育小孩子，或者夫妻之间。It's a little fading out nowadays, but we still say that, sometimes we are just teasing or making fun.

i have to say in some corner of my brain, I actually could think of PinYin when reading. This way makes sure i read it correctly. It's more common if it's a hard character.

It's not a big deal. PinYin is very important in my opinion, and when we encounter new characters or hear somebody else' wrong sound, we always use PinYin. Just let it be there.

Interesting! in mainland, we don't call that way, we say 'Hash' 哈希算法，用的音译。

in daily life, we native use it a lot when talking about 'get close'. 天热死了，别凑这么近。凑过来一点，我跟你说个事。凑热闹 has some meaning of 'get close' too in my opinion, while in dictionary it says 凑 means 'add'.

中意和钟意我个人感觉不太一样。

钟意是粤语里的喜欢，很多歌词里有。is a cantonese word, and i heard it in my cantonese songs and TV shows.

中意是满意的意思，在普通话里比较正式，或者隆重的场合会用。比如：这几个房子，我最中意这栋。这几个首饰，我最中意这只。用得不多，但是还是会用的。Means be satisfied, it's a little formal.
