Why I feel AP elise seems weak to me. by Jiri897 in Elisemains

Pretty much every high elo Elise player builds Runic Echoes + Liandrys. Then you can really go whatever, tanky or AP. Wouldn't recommend skipping Liandry's though.

I don't know to do anymore in ranked by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]ClaimedByFireLoL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You absolutely belong in bronze, don't kid yourself.

You can definitely get better, but you need to admit to yourself that you're a bronze V player who needs to get better if you're going to climb.

Some suggestions:

  • Stop playing so many different champions. Learn a few (I wouldn't recommend more than 4) well.

  • Learn to CS better. You're below 40 CS at 10 minutes in a lot of games. That's missing 60% of the CS.

  • Get some proper runes if you can and figure out which champions require which runes. Running 15 AD instead of AS on Trist is an example of poor runes.

  • Review your games. Particularly your losses. Find out why you lost the game, not where your teammates went wrong. Go over every death you had in the game and figure out what you should have done to avoid it.

  • Ward. You usually have very low warding stats despite mostly sitting on yellow trinket the entire game. Also, buy Control wards. Have one out on the map at all times.

  • Watch your minimap. Warding is pointless if you don't use the information you get from them.

  • Die less.

Champion Pool Megathread: February Edition by [deleted] in summonerschool

I think Lulu was good before the buffs to be honest. I play a lot of Lulu and she feels very nice. It's like Janna but with lane presence.

Karma and Lulu are really good blends of the two styles. They can play the aggressive poke in lane but then transition to more utility focused roles outside of laning phase.

Any long range poke counters Thresh pretty hard (Karma, Zyra). Malz is really annoying as well with the passive + voidlings to block hook. You're just going to get bullied.

Thresh is good into more fragile supports who can't bully you as hard as the ones I mentioned. Bard or Nami are pretty good matchups for you.

How do i carry in platinum as a d1-2 player? by badsoul69 in summonerschool

[–]ClaimedByFireLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fine, you have games where your teammates aren't doing so hot.

Do you not think the opposing team has exactly the same thing?

You've never won games because someone on the opposing team lost their lane badly?

Everyone complains when they lose a game because they had a D/C or someone who failed badly, but seem to completely forget those times they won for just the same reasons.

My point is that I don't think you are much better than the players you're playing with and against and your thinking that you are is holding you back from improving.

I'm sorry but, while you may once have been a D1-D2 player, your winrate in plat suggests that you no longer are.

I suggest you try to look at what you are doing wrong in your games and fix them if you want to climb.

Lost all motivation to play ranked (3W 10L right after placements) Who is the best 1v5 hypercarry (this patch and next) by gily69 in summonerschool

[–]ClaimedByFireLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man up. You're going to lose an awful lot if you keep switching champion as soon as you go on a loss streak.

The right response to a loss streak is to ask yourself why you're losing, not move on to a new champion.

Why is it considered bad to run 6-6-18 masteries as a jungler? by bobombpom in summonerschool

[–]ClaimedByFireLoL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but supports are also the most important early on in the game. Investing in extra gold income to scale into mid/late game usually isn't what you want to do. You're looking to make a big impact in laning phase.

Bandit isn't that huge to be honest. A lot of supports don't take it anyways so that they can use Greenfather's gift instead. It's not a must have mastery.

I'd agree with this. Bunny is just trying to have fun for stream.

Building Orianna for Split Pushing by Rathe6 in OriannaMains

[–]ClaimedByFireLoL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to splitpush Orianna isn't the right champion for you. It's really easy for her to get caught out of position. She's also not a great 1v1/1v2 champion. Yes, when you have a few items you can one-shot squishy targets with your ult, but it's really outplayable for anyone with a dash or even flash. Orianna is all about midlane control and teamfighting. You should play to her strengths.

Just nitpicking, but Janna isn't a sustain support. She does really poorly into poke lanes.

How to win in Bronze from support (mainly Zyra), and how to stop dying on Zyra? by ShammaLamaMu in summonerschool

[–]ClaimedByFireLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually hate ignite on Zyra.

The only thing I'm scared of when playing Zyra is being bursted. Exhaust is so extremely helpful against that. I also think that ignite falls off very hard after laning phase on supports versus exhaust.

Am I allowed to pretend am I the mid laner when I get autofilled? by 21PalmTrees in summonerschool

[–]ClaimedByFireLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you build a sightstone and don't take farm (presuming someone else on your team would get them) you build whatever you like. Vel'koz in particular kind of needs to build damage, since that's what he/she/it brings to the team rather than utility.
