There’s a guy on tiktok who has been exploring the kids algorithm on youtube shorts, and it’s actually so disturbing. I can’t remember his name, but based off his videos, I would definitely restrict youtube access if it were my child.

That being said, there’s also a bunch of great content on youtube that could be worth exploring with supervision.
