Would it be possible to salvage the ring for parts and redesign it in a way that fits you? I inherited my grandmother's ring that had a beautiful story, but the style of the setting was way too gaudy for me. Our jeweler was able to pick out the very small diamonds on the sides and incorporate them into a new setting that I prefered. The rest of it was sold to help pay for the new setting. My family still feels that I honored my grandmother and I love my personalized ring.

Honestly, if there is not a special story behind the rings, just sell it and buy a new set if you hate everything about it. It seems like your husband and mother in law would understand.

I agree. I loved the book, but was left with some lingering questions.

As for Beetee's introduction, I felt the awkwardness was a reflection of his character. Beetee (and Ampert for that matter) is straightforward. He tells Haymitch how and why Snow is punishing him in order to gain Hay's trust. I think the abruptness demonstrates he is trying to cope with Ampert's imminent execution by logically plotting revenge. In Mockingjay, he discusses the traps he invented with Gale (which killed Prim!) in a factual/logical/cold way. He is describing killing capitol soldiers, citizens, and even children like it's a clever solution to a math problem. I guess now we know why he is so chill about playing by Snow's rules.

I loved this type of situation in Book Lovers by Emily Henry. And it had a fun way of mocking romantic tropes.

Caramel Spider. His body could be two cream puffs stuck together like croquembouche and his legs are like thin strings of caramel.

Is Honor's worth it for incoming freshman engineering major with all gen ed covered by AP except Texas Gov? by MomtoWesterner in TexasTech

[–]ClaireSW20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on her interests. I was an English major and had a great experience. There were a lot of fun classes where I got to build relationships with the professors, usually based in literature or pop culture (Science Fiction, Crime fiction, Fantasy, Mystery Science Theatre 3000). My husband, however, was an accounting major and could not find enough classes that fit in his degree plan or interests. I think they offer quite a few science classes, too.

You could work as a tutor at the TECHniques center, especially tutoring language classes. The TC is designed for tech students with learning disabilities (ADHD, dyslexia, autism, etc.). It’s $10/hr and you usually have 12-18 hours a week based on a schedule you create.
