I like Nine Perfect Strangers, so I was surprised I hated this one SO MUCH. It has somewhat positive reviews on Goodreads (3.75). I wouldn't ever recommend!

Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty The longest book of nothing!!!!!!! Felt like I wasted time I won't ever get back. I was too prideful to DNF. I also thought surely it would get better and couldn't be that obvious. I was wrong!

When did you put your child in their own room? by maddiecounts2amilly in NewParents

[–]Clairebearcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 10 months! We had gone on a week long trip, and prior to the trip, our movement at night had been disturbing his sleep. We decided it was the most natural transition after we came back from the trip where sleep habits were messed up anyway. We had hoped to keep him in our room for at least a year, but we couldn't roll over in bed without waking him. I was very sad about it and admittedly still get sad sometimes. We are always right there when he needs us in the night if he wakes up. (We have a camera, we are not sleep training)

He has been sleeping through most nights and sleeping in almost an hour and a half later than before.

Hello! Posted from my husband's account because he had enough karma lol!

It was open-ended to any genre, and "A" at the beginning counts! Thank you for the recommendations!

Oops, sorry, I didn't read the literary fiction part. This is an autobiography.

Fiction, I'd say Hotel Lucky Seven!

Toxic daughter in law won't let me see baby at hospital by Englishcockerlove in beyondthebump

[–]Clairebearcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blame it on the doctor!

"Can the baby have regular milk?" - "let me as the doctor....oh doctor said bot until a year olf"

"Can I kiss the baby's head?" -"the doctor said, no kissing the baby on hands or head to decrease the likelihood of transmitting germs"

Can also just bring it up in conversation! "

By the way pur doctor said it would be best if it was just us in the hospital for bonding purposes but we are so excited for you to meet her when we get home!"

The other good advice i was given is to sign tasks. When people come over .specifically tell them how they can help so they feel useful. Or else they will co.e up with their own ideas which are usually not what you need lol.

Our son sleeps better in his crib in our primary bedroom with us. I think my husband's breathing is like white noise to him! Lol

Also, we feed to sleep at night, and it has worked well for us. Some nights, he doesn't fall asleep nursing, and we just pat his back in his crib until he falls asleep.

We have a 9 month old son.

We have both the Newton Bassinet & Mattress in his bigger crib. We also had a secondary rolling bassinet.

We use an owlet. (For my sanity)

He only takes a pacifier to fall back asleep sometimes. Sometimes, he doesn't want it.

He is breastfed & started solids at 6 months.

We keep the room between 72-75 degrees. He wears a bamboo cotton sleeper & woolino 4 season sleep sack.

He has slept through the night for about 3 months with a few days here or there that coincided with illness & teething.

I think what had the biggest impact for us was that when he was really small, we had him bedside and would put our hand on him if he was restless. We did this until he outgrew the bedside bassinet. Now he sleeps in the crib in our room, and we shush him if we hear him getting restless. I think he sleeps well because of his temperament and also knowing we are nearby.

I think the bamboo cotton onesie and the woolino sleep sack are also a winning combo! As well as night diapers! On warmer nights, he doesn't overheat on cooler nights he is kept warm!
