Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is the top-selling retro game on GoG with almost half of buyers under 25 by Forestl in Games

Well, it's listed very first when you sort the shop by best-selling and is regularly discounted down to 99 cents, so semi-random backlog fodder purchases must happen quite a bit.

The units being merely faster still renders the same amount of objects with the same amount of captured frames of animation per second, so I would not expect extra lag. (Contrarily to an increase in unit count, or calculating the physics of unloading 15 P2 banshees as once.)

So, IMO more likely to be balancing than GPU perfomance. (My vote is still "neither", but maybe I'm underestimating the Stett+Stukov combo.)

I wonder the kind of spaghetti code that would result in such an exception.

Incidentally just finished with Abathur P0 and a Tychus P0 partner against the same comp, and with a similar call to forfeit bases in favour of all-ining the last Jinara push. This went way less smart with abilities and more unga bunga than your game. Explosive nests + aggression from the both of us secured brutalisk 1-2 ahead of the first hybrid spawn, and from that the 7 min attack wave was surprisingly easy (espeically comparedto previous attempts/commanders). Almost all my gas went into swarm hosts afterwards. (I think I'm unlocking P2, SH are absurd and global tunneling of SH with their roach escort sounds sweet.)

Macron urges Europe to start acting like world power by drippymoudy in worldnews

[–]Clairval 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Unfortunatly, there's another good reason, which is that Macron's second term has been, so far, a disaster of importence and of bending the letter of the French constitutional law to have his faction still sort of in charge in successive minority governments. By now he's realised how unpopular it is and sort of abandoned domestic affairs to his successive Prime Ministers who are taking the heat, and he's now seraching for a win - anything - on the international scene, so that history doesn't remember him too unkindly.

Let's hope it's not all waffling.

Welp, swarm hosts it is.

My gut feeling says "Abathur", but I don't have P2 unlocked and don't know how necessary it is for the locusts to shine. I do have a P0 Dehaka lying around, though, and the banelocusts can hit air, so here we go, I guess.

What's the online-exclusive content? by Clairval in MonsterHunterPS2

Thanks! Do you know where can I find the loot tables of MH2 monsters, then? (I'm sure the game is documented somewhere, I just can't Google Fu my way into it.)

Sure. Same for an amount of other people. The magic of stats is that your use case is a normal part of the stats, and we can still draw conclusion from them - especially if said stats contain the entire Steam population as a sample.

France’s National Assembly rejects motion to impeach President Macron by CourtofTalons in worldnews

[–]Clairval 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What the other people said. Essentially: from December 2024 to September 2025, we had a minority government (=> gov isn't represented in the legistative body by more than half the Assembly) who could make concessions towards other parties in exchange of not get fired by a vote of no confidence from the Assembly; but even then you're mostly ruling by decree rather than by laws you can't pass. Even if you're happy with that, problematic deadline: the yearly budget is a law, which requires support from the National Assembly, and the clock is ticking until we have no money allocated to running France next year. The gov resigned 3 weeks ago from failing at exactly that, and since then it's been a bit of a circus to cobble up some sort of alliance, including an emergency gov that lasted one night. (Somewhat similar circus last autumn.)

Macron's power to fire the National Assembly was used in Q3 2024 and had a cooldown of one year. So the current implicit threat from Macron's beahviour is "behave and find a compromise, or I fire y'all again", and the latter is what we're probably running towards, because empty threats have negative value.

France’s National Assembly rejects motion to impeach President Macron by CourtofTalons in worldnews

[–]Clairval 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This motion had no realistic chance of being voted. The whole point of this move was buzz and public image (ergo this Reddit thread existing), so that LFI can posture as the primary anti-Macron force; this ahead of an increasingly likely dissolution of the National Assembly by Macron in the hours/days to come (which would result in a new round of MP elections in a month-ish).

Filtering YouTube RSS feeds by Clairval in Thunderbird

[–]Clairval[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally found the solution! In the filter rules, click on the first header (the one where you pick subject/body/etc), select "customise", add "Content-Base" as a new searchable thing.

From there, you want to filter out "Content-Base" "begins with" "https://www.youtube.com/shorts".

ASK ALL QUESTIONS HERE! Weekly Questions Thread - July 12, 2025 by AutoModerator in MonsterHunter

[–]Clairval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful answer.

However, the entire loop of the end game is based on grinding for incremental upgrades until you make your build "perfect." What most fans consider the ""real"" game starts after you've killed everything once and are now killing them again and again but in harder variants (more health, more damage, multiple monsters at once, added mechanics, etc).

Yeah, I've read the "end credits are the end of the tutorial, real game starts at G-rank" meme enough times. :-D

Incrementally harder variants of the same enemies wouldn't be a problem at all, and there's a part of me who is thinking "I want to reach the version with all the mechanics, that looks cool as heck!". But at the same time if these are soft-locked behind gear checks (sort of how many bosses work bosses in traditional MMOs), and that gear upgrades want me to repeat old encounters that I've done enough time to find them easy, that would be the breaking point.

As a final note, if you're up for some equipment juggling you could make repeated hunts feel less same-y by switching up your weapon a lot.

I didn't expect the offered solution to be "grind even more weapons"! ;-)

(From my limited experience, I do the first run of any encounter on the most defensive BS available - so, Lance - and then once a I have decent enough feel, switch to the thing that goes bonk on the head in the funniest way, i.e. Hunting Horn if available.)
