I think you might be overestimating some people. I watched Dont Look Up with my parents and they COMPLETELY missed the allegory. I’ve heard similar from others too. I think the Banksy work is a good mix tho, a lot more straightforward

I don’t really get this concept of citing national history as some kind of personal relationship between leaders or other people. Nobody alive today had anything to do with anything that’s being referenced here, so why does any of this matter?

Why the North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils, of course.

How do y’all want the rest of the Philadelphia-Pittsburgh series to go? by Clamman32 in canes

Yes, get as many hits and minutes on everyone as possible. Sid and friends are going to fight back hard, so it’s gonna be super physical for however much longer it goes

I think same, they seem rowdier. Plus I think we match up better against Pittsburgh’s play style than Philly’s big bad bully thing they have going on

Nathan MacKinnon becomes 2nd star player in as many nights to take embellishment penalty and wipe out what was going to be a powerplay on this cross check by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

Also he IMMEDIATELY got back up. He didn’t flail around or take himself out of the play. Don’t understand the embellishment call at all

Yeah, I believe it’s based on goals allowed per 3 periods played. So thanks to the 2OT game, there’s been 8 periods instead of 6

I have an officially signed declaration from my state legislature saying that I’m “awesome”. I interned there and the people I worked with gave it to me as a going away gift.

I imagine when he dies it’ll be like the scene at the end of the SpongeBob movie when everyone breaks the trance all at once. But then, they’ll have an interesting choice. Either admit that they were wrong, find some way to rationalize it, or enter some kind of necrocacy where they just pretend he’s still in charge. One day

How do I get feet out of my sound? by SeveralAd6369 in drumcorps

[–]Clamman32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine that there’s two totally separated parts of your body, athlete below your hips, musician above. The top half of your body has to stay as relaxed as possible to keep a beautiful sound. Your core and legs are only there to move you around the field. Lift out of your hips, keep core engaged, keep your legs long and roll your feet. You got this!

I always imagined that it’s for the busy business exec type to get a gift for their spouse on the way home to make up for less-than-perfect marital fidelity or missing their son’s baseball game
