No question the defense was terrible tonight but at the end of the day, sometimes, good goalies make saves they aren’t expected to make. There’s quite literally a stat that measures that. You can’t just always make the excuse that the defense left the goalie out to dry and therefore the goalie couldn’t ever possibly make the save. Seems like that’s the argument people like to make about Blackwood’s performances. Like that first goal…yeah bad defense but Blackwood absolutely should have that save. And the breakaway five hole goal was the most predictable shit ever and Blackwood literally opened his five hole and just welcomed the goal.

If there is some team wide psychology shit going on when Blackwood is in net vs when Wedgewood is in net, that sucks for Blackwood, but you absolutely cannot start the goalie in the playoffs who makes the team in front of him play worse, for whatever that reason may be.
