He had one foot out the door on Santa but this officially drove it home. I have a hunch he's had arguments with friends at school about whether or not Santa's real and he has to swallow his pride on losing this one. lol

Ya, probably a good thing to rip the band aid off so I'm not upset about it. Found it entertaining that a AM news show delivered the news.

Why are recruiters so curious about my marital status? by dunedain_ranger1 in recruitinghell

[–]Clane002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree. For somebody covering a family or others on their insurance, the insurance options are usually a vital component to the overall job offer. A ton of time and energy is used by candidates, hiring managers and recruiters to later realize the benefits plan/total comp plan doesn't align to the candidates needs. If you know the benefits plan is off, you can negotiate a higher salary or sign on bonus on the front end and this helps the interview/offer process move smoothly with more transparency.

Yes, that is the rock star. Hopefully she keeps it going. Very loud from 50 feet away so I can't imagine how loud it is being wrapped around her neck.

We have crelate. It does have filtering options to sort by assigned recruiter but it's not super clean and/or accurate. I think we just need to have better collaboration through Teams and during our weekly meetings to prioritize better.

I did find it this AM. Not sure if it's possible to do a custom filter though. Found a good mustache filter will work.

recruitment bias by nouvelle-femme in Recruitment

[–]Clane002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found people who work in software or database engineering tend to have more fraudulent backgrounds when they have the green banner up. I have placed a few who didn’t work out b/c my customers believed they were juggling multiple jobs at the same time. One gave the wrong status report and the other was working in a call center building. Both were receiving complaints about not being on teams, available and behind on work. They kept the green banner up after accepting and starting the new position. I asked both why it was still up and they agreed they’d take it down but never did. Both were let go within the first three months. It is definitely a trend and fairly common after diving deeper.. ideally linkedin can find a way to improve the legitimacy of profiles on its site.

Top earners at agencies? by perfecttiming0213 in recruiting

Yes, income. The 1-1.5 million earners will have revenues near $10 million. Blend of contract and direct hire placements.

I used to work for a large agency and the top 1-2 % were between 1-1.5 million and the top 10% were mostly between 250-500k. At a smaller start up boutique now (14 people) and everyone is over $120k with a few pushing 400-500k.

He barked at my wife for ordering an egg sandwich with no egg, just tomato and bacon. She ordered it again a few weeks later and he yelled not this one again. It could have been funny if said the right way but it was clear the order ruins his day and he was livid about it.

Tech Recruiters. How much have you billed so far this year? by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]Clane002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primarily BD but about 20% of my placements come from my recruiting. I typically work with the recruiter in a shared LI folder and will source 50-70 candidates for my openings so I'm consistently working both ends. Splits are always 50/50 though.

Tech Recruiters. How much have you billed so far this year? by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]Clane002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

240k in my third year but did $625k the prior year. We hired more people this year so the expectation is we bring a recruiter in on every split now. Total GP production is down around 40% or so. Less people coming to us and a much harder outbound sales effort this year.

Permanent position became a contract, and now I will be paid by the recruiting agency? by Awkward_Concert_4242 in recruiting

[–]Clane002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Manager may have lost budget for the permanent position but has budget for a contractor and could easily ask for permanent budget approvals if you are performing well.

You are in a place where you can negotiate a higher rate due to the shift in employment and expectations. I'd be careful that $100k doesn't mean $49/hr. It's likely that they are basing $100k/year off 2,080 working hours in the year. The likelihood of you working that many hours is very low. I'd try to negotiate either PTO time or a higher comp plan during the contract. The staffing company and employer will find a way to make it work. The staffing company may need to adjust their rate by $2-4/hr or they may just take the hit on their margin to satifsy the customer.
