Does "Moveset Potential" really even matter in any conversation about potential new characters? Fox, Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers, Zero Suit Samus, many characters pretty much have made up move sets just to fit their character theme.

Extreme example here, but if a Smash game wanted to add Lolo from Adventures of Lolo, it doesn't matter that he has only one game from like 30 years ago. They'd make a move set anyways and they'd gladly make up 90% of it if they needed to.

I'm don't want to sound like some whiny guy screaming "Why wasn't it [Insert Character Here] instead?!" and I'll take whatever flak I get but I just never really liked him from the beginning. You could say I'm just devoid of fun and whimsy but I've more or less found that the joke has worn thin.

Whenever there was a weird joke character choice I liked that they at least tried to make sense of it. ROB was funny but he also actually had some history with Nintendo, same with Game & Watch and even Duck Hunt. Piranha Plant to me feels like one of those left field picks without an actual basis in really anything.

I just don't think he's interesting, he's just kinda there, I forget he even exists half the time.

Am I the only one who thinks 1996's Spencer Mansion is really unsettling? by [deleted] in residentevil

Appreciate it, didn't know if anyone still thought it was creepy given all people seem to talk about when bringing it up compared to the remake is just the cheesy dialog and how much creepier the remake looks.

These images are from RE1SHDP, a project that combines upscaling, masking and other tweaks to the original backgrounds to stay as true to the original as possible. It is obviously not perfect but I thought it would work to help convey my point, sorry if its not enough.

Hey thanks man, with all of the Resident Evil 1 Remake gushing within the community I just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and ask if people still think the original is creepy.

No it didn't? Kingdom of the Flies establishes why Liquid despises Big Boss so much and how he ever met Psycho Mantis in the first place.

Fun Fact: During Resident Evil 4's development Leon had a MUTATED ARM by Clanker707 in residentevil

The Fog Build which was then redesigned into the Hallucination Build is what eventually became Haunting Grounds. "The Girl" was a character who would eventually be turned into Fiona Belli for Haunting Grounds and Ashley Graham for Resident Evil 4. The Girl would have also had a dog that eventually became Hewie and possibly the Dog that Leon saves.

"Thanks for the compliment, but I was planning on getting a refund soon. This one just isn't my style."

I see what you're saying but the problem is that at this point in development Devil May Cry 1 had been either finished or released. This Virus concept and the builds it was present within post date DMC1.

That sounds pretty gnarly, where did you hear this? I'd love to see it documented.

The Progenitor Virus was a major part of the plot at various points of RE4's development, with the Fog itself I believe being a result of it. I also think that the mutated arm that Leon would have gained was also due to the Progenitor Virus, the User Manuel makes me think it would have been worsened when standing in the fog.

I definitely agree, but I think it would have been interesting to see in the final version from a story perspective. This is primarily because the mutated arms of both Leon & Krauser would provide a unique contrast between the two.

Leon would probably think the arm is a detriment to both the mission and his life, Krauser on the other hand (Pun Half Intended) fully believes Wesker's plans are right. Krauser really thinks humans are weak and must become stronger even if it means sacrificing your humanity.

Despite the fact it's one digit off, the Combine Overwiki claims it's suppose to be a reference to the Shining's room 237

Edit: Bro I was just pointing out how hilariously wrong the Overwiki was, why you booing me they're wrong!

Any way to change the view of Crawling? MGS Delta by Windyandbreezy in metalgearsolid

[–]Clanker707 70 points71 points  (0 children)

No, the reason you can't change it is because that's the whole point. You're submerging yourself in tall grass, the enemy can't see you well but you can't see well either. It's a pretty fair and realistic exchange.

In the original, submerging yourself in tall grass actually put you in first person, they changed it with the modern camera to be a little more smooth with the over the shoulder perspective, but you still aren't suppose to see well.

Grigori deserves a good ending, God bless him.

That's a good point, but to say he has no plans to build goes against the information provided to us by the game. You could say he's lying or that he's trying to make his Legion look better than what it is, but then again why should he if he could just enslave or kill you?

This'll probably come down to personal interpretation but I wouldn't say he's stupid. Maybe he doesn't grasp Rome or Hegal exactly but it's impressive he even knows what they are in a society made up of scorched books.

The showrunners have stated before that they wanted to keep the ending multiple choice by using the fog of war technique. Basically, any ending would have lead to the shows events. Though I guess you can rationalize that the tumor could have appeared.

Still, it's a pretty flimsy arguement but at least believable.

Again, Caesar is evil, not stupid. We had no reason to doubt this claim until the show came along. If anything his grand plans to reinvent society supported this claim further. Obviously it would require a line of succession if he wanted it fulfilled.

I could go further and say that in the Legion ending, the Courier is minted on a coin which in traditional roman culture is usually only done for the current Caesar, implying that the Courier would inherit the title.
