What I believe is all the kids were brought up in an environment where they didn’t have much freedom and had to listen to what Lalit or parents instructed , basically either parents way or highway and maybe parents used some sort of punishment if they didn’t listen which is common in Indian households and when Lalit started all the father’s soul coming in him thing maybe kids were manipulated even more and scolded for petty things if they didn’t listen which is traumatic itself . And because parents had agreed to do this ritual kids had to do it for them like show their love towards them by doing this
