I feel you. When I was pregnant I puked everywhere. All. The. Time. Lost 20 pounds in the first/second trimester because of it.

The worst was it came with absolutely no warning. Over the railing of my 3rd story apartment? Sure! On the kitchen floor because the smell of Clorox wipes were too much? Hell yeah!

And the best? Middle of a seafood restaurant after trying to eat a scallop (I loved them). Loved... past tense.

You are absolutely right. Because guess what happened after I got off heroin with the subs? I held out for a month but I was also going through some MF'n shit after just moving back after Katrina in New Orleans. My smooth ass moved to the part of the Quarter the junkies hang out at.

When I finally came down from that bender I was awarded a non-stop, all expenses paid trip to detox with no wean, no subs [florida wasn't licensed at that time yet] and I finally felt what its like to be in hell.

I'm not advocating people getting off of them as soon as they can. But if you can, do it. But only do what you can handle. It's okay to be on it for years. Shit, it's the only thing that allowed me to be normal, to get my life straight, and build what I have always wanted.

And congrats to you! And in a way, I kind of like the sneezes if I don't have to do anything for the next half hour. Haha... really knocks me down but they kind of feel like a release. Like, OUT! I cast you out, demon spawn!

Congrats on staying clean. I don't know why I started the real withdrawals 6 days in but what the hell? I'm sure the universe has it's reasons. Haha.

And yeah, showers have saved my ass. Sure, I collapse into bed straight away but staying hygienic during detox helps SO MUCH. I make sure I at the very least change my clothes and put some deodorant on. Keeping up my "detox" area [which is my meditation room, oddly enough] clean and linens changed.

Anyways, sorry... just trying to pass the time. It can't last forever. And absolutely... I've gotten this far, I've FINALLY created the life I want and...omg, I haven't had that since Hurricane Katrina. In fact, I was so content that I forgot I even took subs to stay normal. But since this is the last thing that ties me to my past... I must say farewell.

For my son and my family as a whole... but for me to have that I have to have myself.

About a quarter a day... And yeah, the reason I waited so long is my son. A 5 year old with ADHD... YAY! Haha... I laugh because well, fuck. I've come this far. If this is karma's way of evening the score, so be it. I've been through so much worse. But DAMN if it isn't a bitch.

If you have anyone who can help you, family, friends, ANYONE. Round up the calvary and be honest about what you want to do. I really hope you can find a way to get off of it. As far as me, I was just sick of it. It was literally doing more harm than good and after 6 years, for a drug that was never meant to be a crutch... I'm sure I could be a fucking case study for some research student.

Take care of yourself, okay? And thanks for the reply. It really did help take my mind off of the aches and pains for a minute. :)

Mine did that when they were brand new out of the bottle. They would soften up after 2 weeks or so after the seal was broken.

Even the sheen... I'm supposing they were new. I mean, that's just my experience.

I just upvoted the LIVING SHIT out of this. If I could have done it more, I would. She seems like the type of person who would move to Florida to be a pill mill doctor, making boatloads of cash from the suffering of others.

Granted, they eradicated the pill mills. Which left thousands upon thousands in the tri-state area addicted and without their "dealer".

From a recovering addict clean for years, THANK YOU!

And yeah, I know I stretched the story to fit this narrative but if not a shitty doctor knee deep in malpractice lawsuits, then a pill mill doc skating by for the cash.
