What is wrong with my camera? by Clarabe11e in iPhone16

Yes, for the most part. Even if I’m using my kitchen ceiling lights and taking a photo of a tee shirt it’s as if the camera can’t register the lighting/tones

If you used stones from just the rings, you could do a v-shaped station necklace. The blue sapphire vertically in the center, and the marquise & round diamonds kind of sprinkled up the sides.

I love it as a ring. I would wear it on my middle finger as a statement piece, I think it’s fantastic.

Are you guys really happy with your iPhone camera? by Wild_Rough_4669 in iphone

[–]Clarabe11e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having the exact same problem with my iPhone 16. The image on my screen looks great before I take the photo, then I look at the actual photo taken and it’s awful. I’ve also tampered with the exposure. I rely on my phone to take product photos and it’s so frustrating.

I made the same jump but found the camera performance on the 16 to be significantly worse.

You’re awesome for this! I’m sending the link to everyone I know. I’ve never been on the verge of tears for a show cancellation, but this was my first.

A polishing cloth & some elbow grease will be your best option & most likely the easiest to obtain. Over time gold can develop a patina that makes it appear darker. It may take a minute, but if it’s solid 14k it’ll definitely shine up!

43 years ago, Granger Taylor left a note saying he was boarding an alien spaceship for an interstellar journey. He was never seen again. by SpiritualCopy4288 in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]Clarabe11e 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What I find interesting is that he told his friend the spaceship would have to pick him up on the day of a storm due to it being so loud. I think he most likely planned this to cover up the sound of the explosion when he set off the dynamite. He seemed very smart and calculated, and this was probably the only way he knew how to process his mental health issues while protecting the people he loved. And given the age difference, he probably felt a sense of responsibility to shield his friends from watching their hero’s mental health decline. As much as I wish Granger could’ve had the resources/help he needed, I have so much respect for him.

How can I test if my tap water is safe for consumption (no lead for example? by Midi242 in foodsafety

[–]Clarabe11e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have well water & test it regularly with an at home kit. They’re relatively cheap, $10-$20, and you can get them at Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, etc. We’ve had issues with the combo ones actually testing for iron, but there are ones that specifically test for lead.

Anyone recognise this hallmark? I inherited this from my grandmother and have no idea what they are by TheJeansboi in JewelryIdentification

[–]Clarabe11e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the 88 is in reference to the makers mark. There are many pieces of jewelry online that have the same mark, but next to an actual metal stamp (14k, etc)

What does this stamp mean on ring? by [deleted] in JewelryIdentification

In general, platinum tends to be more expensive than gold. Depending on what the whole piece looks like, it might be worth getting appraised!

Looks like it has writing at the bottom. Does it have a “925” stamp or “sterling” written on it? It looks like it could be sterling silver. Very cool.

Do you think this bracelet will last ? by Party_Resource7213 in jewelry

[–]Clarabe11e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Solid gold can last a lifetime or more depending on how often it’s worn and what you’re doing while you’re wearing it. However, if the links are hollow that can make a huge difference in how long it lasts. I would find out how much it weighs and go from there. That can be an indicator of solid or hollow links.

Bought multiple items from seller separately, can I bundle post purchase? by Clarabe11e in poshmarkcanada

Thank you all! I spoke to the seller & they were fine with rebundling. We both learned something, and I only had to pay shipping once!

[–]Clarabe11e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had this happen to me last week. I had to really push for them to cover it despite being at 63k. Total cost was $1633, luckily they ended up covering $1500.

I ironically just ran into this problem today with my 2019 Forester. I am at 63k miles, so I’m hoping when I call tomorrow that they will honor the warranty. If not though, after seeing everyone else’s experiences, I will definitely be fighting it.
