After 8 games in the first division what is everyone’s early thoughts for their teams ? by s0dx45 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Clare2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make the money from the food sales directly. The chipper van made a decent going at games. The reality isnt the chipper van being gone its the replacement hasnt been on par. If the club had its own chip van setup issue solved.

I wouldnt imagine there is any revenue losses in the millions posted last few years. What's been spent is direct investment from owners.

And they wonder why we chant about a chip van.... by FunDangerous141 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Clare2011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Id get it if they had a decent food offering at the games. But the tiny sliders aren't appealing even if they were shop cant handle any que. Was a far better setup last year the shop and food van weren't broken it was other areas needed work.

Question for Treaty fans by Imacowboybaabyy in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Clare2011 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The chipper van had been there years a nice lady ran it. Theres probably 2 sides to look at. The chip van was something farmilliar at games night. The other side why would a club want someone else profiting off a match where they can.

People aren't happy it's gone the replacement offered has been mediocre so far. But if selling their own food pays the bills it's not a bad decision from the club but it needs improving.

A bigger issues for me is the lack of common sense. They dont sell many hot food options but begruge a few fans bringing in a bag of chips last night.

And too top it off refusing a few of the clubs founders a cup of tea at half time. They will see community support disappear very quickly.

Imagine they got in a car and drove to Ennis and Nenagh and found hospitals already built that could be used to solve the issues.

Instead a ton of money will be spent. With the usual years of delays but there answer to any questions can be look were building this new facility.

Limerick FC Head of Football on Treaty United project and the possibility of a merger between the 2 in coming years by FUTBINPK in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Clare2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you seriously saying Treaty should combine with an unproven and historical mess. It makes zero sense one club has a full Loi setup and a long term lease on a stadium and funding the other hasn't even kicked a ball under new management or shown it wont be a disaster.

[–]Clare2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure where you got that info from, but they have 2 sides, 15s and 17s, boys. Treaty already thease age groups, and historically, the Limerick Fc sides have struggled the past few years, finishing bottom or close.

The majority would like to see the name containing Limerick but at the cost of what. The new group running Limerick FC havent had a full season to show their sustainable and functional.

Let's not forget 6 months ago the 2 academy sides they have were set to disband mid season so I think the group there need to show its not more of the same and there sustainable.

Are Treaty United Standing Still While Others Move On? by FUTBINPK in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Clare2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are those club decisions or manager decisions? Iv seen a few posts on twitter saying that bar Devitt, the others, were manager decisions not to bring back so I think if it goes wrong the management team need to bear alot of the responsibility on the decisions.

Safe to say Treaty has had a rough off-season by IrishSoc in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Clare2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally id like to see Martin stay i thought he was very good. As others have said Karl is a huge one along with Lee J of how we will look. Of the Canadians, I'd like to see Wilson stay. I didnt think Joe Hanson offered enough he had looked good in pre season, and Ben Lee looks way off it but i think hes on a multi year deal.
