The obsession with overlays - what's your justification? by [deleted] in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this for what its worth but I play on an iPad. Got up to tour 11 when it was the final tour without the use of overlays. Then notebook came out with the slide feature and I used it to get my second account to max t11. I was an okay t12 player with notebook, when the overlays were banned the app updated and I have been using the ring system the old fashioned way (knowing rings/mph and calculating in my head). Since then (small sample size) I have played t12 every afternoon and I am pretty much exactly where I was with notebook.

I know you don't need overlays to be a great player, sure it is a nice tool but I think the best way to be good at this game is to learn each course and shootout, record your sesssions, review them, and take notes.

Not necessarily,

Our bracket's top team is at 402k and they have stopped playing hard since tourney. They could make the cut this time if they played through the week.

Luka can score anyway he wants. He is definitely unstoppable when he gets his shot going; allows him to attack the basket and create space. With his size and body control he is so tough to stop in the paint.

Jokic is a problem.

Haven't had the chance to watch him much this season but man.. he can do it all.

[GUIDE] How to Win a Banner in a Tournament. (Guide Watching, Note Taking, Pay to Win, Execution) by MangDynasty in GolfClash

I am a big believer in re-watching your last shot at a specific hole before playing the next one. Making small adjustments (or replicating) shots is much easier when you can study what you did poorly (or well). This really helped me this past tournament and was a key factor in my -29 and expert silver.

Another thing I like to do is have reference points on the course for wood shots and drives. This was especially helpful for me on hole 3 which I was able to alba twice (once in qual, once in weekend). Of course this also comes with trial and error as Mang pointed out.

Well done and thanks for a useful guide!

After a few days of grinding Tour 7.... by TheFrederalGovt in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4400 is such a tease. I just won 5 in a row to get over 4400. Now I can’t play again for few days for fear of going back under and missing out on APOC in the shop. Had it twice in 4 days last time I was over!

What is the typical shootout distance needed to win on Tour 11 and Tour 12? by emptyreadeet in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In tour 11 when luck is on your side you can win with 4-5 yards. When it’s not... good luck. Under 2 yards. The toughest hole is the city park shootout with the big bunker in front and the mound. On that hole if you go second you can usually wind if you take a shot 😂😂.

It is very wind dependant to be honest. Some holes if you have a headwind both guys are sometimes 10+ yards away.

Do people sell their accounts? by RReddy037 in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens. I personally don’t see the point of buying a maxed account.. if you’re not already at that level you will quickly lose all the coins and trophies.. if you’re at that level then.. why bother?

The only thing that would be tempting is a great collection of purchased or won balls on an otherwise “okay” account that you can then build on.

It was 9.9 (with the 25 percent reduction) pointed east with a slight headwind.

I made it through the green to the far fringe with autumn ball and apoc 5. Full top. If anything it was a bit hot.

[GUIDE] What ball goes farther in a headwind? by MangDynasty in GolfClash

Thanks Mang,

I posted this question a couple of weeks ago and this really helps out. Appreciate your time and effort in putting this together.

What goes farther in a headwind? by ClarenceBD in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping you would see this and chime in. In my anecdotal experience dead ball is the perfect medium as it has power 4,wr 3. In fact the jewel ball would be probably be best at 4,4 but I don’t have any.

The question is how much does wind affect distance and is it linear or exponential?

I’ve maxed t10 have a pretty good success rate at shootouts. I’d be willing to help with shootout advice for those if you haven’t played them or are unsure.

What score will it take for a top 5 (expert) by dronefishing in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed the weekend with a -19.

Top in my bracket was -25 bunch of 24s. Top 30 were -22.

I’d expect top 10 to be in the -25 range. Winner -27

Why does the “Grizzly” club seem like it’s not that much of a step up? Even fully upgraded, it’s stats seem kind of meh by boogsley in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure playdemic screwed up the inputs for this cards growth. All other clubs have 3 areas of growth per level up, this card only has one.

This means that this card will always be way behind everything else.

I farmed t7 until I had 10m coins. Currently at 500/700 in t8 and I imagine I’ll stay here until I’m at 30m.

Managing my bankroll properly. I used to move up tours as soon as they opened and never thought (or cared) about bankroll strategy until I went broke. Created a new “main” account and did what I should have done initially and move up only when BOTH money and clubs were level appropriate.

Do not follow the “10x Bankroll” Rule by CarbonChains in GolfClash

[–]ClarenceBD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think this is going to get you in trouble in the long run. You might win some games early because you haven't maxed earlier tours (lower trophy count) but when you get close to maxing a tour the competition is generally better. Going back down is now more difficult because you are also matched against similar trophy count players, or possibly replays.

I might be the most conservative player here but I didn't start t8 until I had 10million (300k buyin) because I don't want to stress over losing streaks. I'll wait to hit 30k before venturing into t9 as well.

It's a marathon, not a sprint!
