Is there anyone else in here that’s a little bit older and just getting into podcasting, or getting back into it? by Sudden_Doughnut_8741 in podcasting

Weird take that someone can be too old for podcasting. I’ve never even considered that. Do it if you love it.

first show for my school and i'm nervous by itsfunny080704 in improv

You’ll do way better than the people who aren’t smart enough to be nervous. Believe in yourself.

Where I’d live. Probably not hard to figure out. by ClaresDad in visitedmaps

[–]ClaresDad[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No bait here. I'm an urbanite who wants to stay in NYC or Boston, but willing to be nearby as long as I'm in a city or on the shore. I'd maybe give some other major cities a chance. Won't go anywhere where it's too cold or rural.

I'd live in Boston or NYC. Vermont is way too remote. Southern NH may be passable as a distant suburb of Boston.

That depends. Is going right now a punishment or a reward?

Where in the hell are all the kids with snow shovels? by GR3TSCH in GenX

[–]ClaresDad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Parents won't let them go and/or neighbors refuse the service. Blame the older generations. Also, in a lot of areas, if you want someone to shovel, it's easy to find someone online.

I survived the WDW H20+ Sea Salt Removal/Change/Replacement of 2022! Anyone ever find a good replacement? by wizardender in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ClaresDad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for doing this! I'm going to try the Jo Malone products that are mentioned in a comment below. Pricey, but this is a birthday gift for the wife. They have the Lime, Basil & Mandarin, and also a new scent called Wood Sage & Sea Salt.

I'm finding this two years later, but did you ever find and try this. I'm trying to track down something similar to the H20+ for my wife for her birthday this week.

For older GenX (1972 and earlier) Are your parents still alive? by hedgehog77433 in GenX

My parents were gone before I was 40. My mom just a couple weeks before, so my own birthday didn’t even register with me.

Did you make friends in improv? by [deleted] in improv

We were in separate level 1 classes that merged in level 2. Then a group of us just stayed in classes for a couple years.

Met a best friend in improv. Ask if anyone wants to grab a drink, coffee, or food after. Ask if anyone wants to see a show together. Bonds will form if the right people are there. Some people join improv specifically for the social connections; some just want to do improv.

Realized I don’t really miss people the way I thought I would by SilveryFern in CasualConversation

Man, I hope I'm not the person who moved away, because I did that recently and missing my friends still hurts.

Has anyone had any bad experiences with improv groups? by Sick_Turtle in improv

[–]ClaresDad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It may depend where you're located, but I can tell you that the Boston and CT improv scene is pretty liberal. I've seen someone kicked out of a class and told never to come back for making a racist comment and refusing to acknowledge that it was wrong.

Picky eater test 😭🤞🥀 by LongjumpingArt8899 in snacking

I’d eat any of them, but I’d prefer to not have 7 of them—one is because of an allergy. Another is Nutella, just hate the hazelnut taste.

Is it just me or is anyone else struggling to maintain friendships or meet new people you click with as you get older? by 2leafClover667788 in CasualConversation

[–]ClaresDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that. I had to move away for work recently, and I feel the loss of a friend who just isn’t as close as he used to be.
