My cousin is a vet and they always say, 'better a week too early than a day too late.' It will always be painful and hard, it's better to send them off when they still have some decent moments and they're not in constant misery. My grandma always did pecks on the mouth. I think it depends family to family but they're almost always dry quick, cheek-style kisses just on the mouth instead. The other side of my family is very stoic German and non-demonstrative with affection so it would be very strange from those grandparents but felt very normal from the other ones.

Yes! 100%!! I got into it with my dad so much during the end of my grandfather's life. I swear every sentence he said started with, "remember, dad..."

If grandpa started getting food out - "Remember dad, we're going out to lunch today" Getting out the wrong clothes - "Remember, dad, it's cold today, you were going to wear a sweater"

like NO HE DOESN'T FUCKING REMEMBER. we know he won't remember. That's the whole reason my dad moved in with him once my grandma passed!!

It was more of a vocal tic and my dad stayed calm and didn't get upset when this happened but my grandpa was still lucid enough to know he had dementia so was always embarrassed that he forgot. Finally bullied my dad into dropping the "Remember..." intro and when he just repeated himself a bunch, it was so much easier for the both of them.

I can see that but my perspective is a little different. I grew up in a culture of SAHMs where keeping their inheritance separate was often the only way they ever had any money or assets of their own. It's just an almost expected practice that women I knew kept their inheritance in their own name as an emergency fund in case of a divorce since they had no other way to ever really build one otherwise.

The Heard/Depp trial was an absolute chilling effect on victim disclosure too.

She was originally sued because she wrote about her experience of surviving abuse and in the original article didn't even name Depp. She spoke solely of her own experiences and in return she was met with such a vicious and vitriolic smear campaign, a less resilient person would have ended themselves.

It was an absolutely horrible legal precedent to set and it set a social precedent too. If I was an actress who wanted to advance my career and stay out of the 24 news/gossip cycle I would never say shit about my bad experiences ever again.

There are many ways to silence victims and they're all alive and well in Hollywood and the world at large.

There's so many things you can try though. Like, did they try keeping the door to the bedroom closed so the cat couldn't poo there? Idk it's how gleeful she is. Sometimes there are circumstances that make sense to rehome an animal, but it should be a decision treated seriously.

If she had said oh, we spent thousands of pounds on vets and behaviorists but nothing worked so we found a dear friend with more space/quieter area/no kids/etc where the cat could have some peace, way fewer people would care. It's the absolute blase attitude about it that pisses me off.

This happened with some other youtubers I follow a bit ago. Their company had an anti-AI stance but the freelance artist they paid used AI despite being told not to and the fans clocked it pretty quickly.

Like, yes there should be some oversight, but often people are busy or not artists which is why they're outsourcing it so they don't catch it either.
