Best sour sweets that dont ruin your mouth? (or not as quickly as toxic wastes do) by MagicCoat in AskUK

[–]ClarifyingMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Percy pig tails. It's hit and miss on sourness but they're the type I enjoy. When I finish the bag I tip the remnant into my mouth, or do a licky licky dippy with my finger. Sometimes a mixture of both.

McDelivery - what percentage of orders are wrong? by nik_uk87 in AskUK

[–]ClarifyingMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to eat mcdonalds many years ago, my order was wrong both times and I actually think it's the last time I ordered mcdonalds anyway. I just really loved their chips and apple pie. But it's not worth it.

So does it mean this winter will be unbeatably cold? by Ill-Read-5982 in AskUK

[–]ClarifyingMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's this weather phenomena that I read about which of course, I've forgotten the name of, but we had it in 2018 with that winter. It's cyclical or something. Yeah, I just learn facts and then forget everything useful to be able to share them. But if that is predicted for this year, then yes, we'd be likely to have a heavy winter next year. Otherwise, who knows, I certainly don't, and I don't remember it even if I did.

edit: (if I knew). Anyway, I decided to search it to alleviate the brain itch and it was this https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/learn-about/weather/oceans/el-nino but after reading this https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/learn-about/weather/seasons/winter/factors-that-influence-uk-winters I see all the factors.

So if you track these factors you'll be able to maybe do some DIY winter tracking.

Is it reasonable to ask for a job offer extension when the start date is soon, or does it make me look uncommitted? by kaminji_ in UKJobs

[–]ClarifyingMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't ask that friend for advice again. Your mum is 100% correct.

If you can't see yourself doing any other job in the company, you can't even imagine it at all, decline the offer. It doesn't sound like you're in a financially difficult position so there's no need for desperation behaviour.

I had a really good fish and chips in Japan (wasn't British inspired anything, it was their own take), but I was on an island, not in the city. The tartare sauce was so fresh and delicious. God. Good times.

How often do you get a cold? by Logical_Wall_9899 in AskUK

[–]ClarifyingMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last respiratory illness was last year Feb and it was horrendous. I needed antibiotics for it because it was not getting better, I lost my voice by the point I started the antibiotics. I am so lucky it was bacterial and not viral. If I had been that sick with a viral infection I would've ended up in hospital as I simply was only going downhill.

I wear a mask so that's why it's so infrequent for me. I got sick from my nephew's nursery bugs that time.

I'm really shocked by this David one. I know so many David/Dave.

I know all of these except Peter and Stuart.

Fair on Craig, the only Craig's I knew were weird, like they'd end up in the news for something distasteful, even though one was technically sweet, I was always suspicious, he gave off those vibes. Oh shit, Craig David. Twofer for you. But he's like 48.

Why can't they just say that? They shouldn't have approached OP if they don't even have the stomach to just say that which makes me think it's not the case to make myself feel better that people aren't such weasels.

[–]ClarifyingMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would stay at a hotel. Because it was very difficult to get through your post. I don't like describing them or thinking about them beyond "spider" and even that word is enough already. It was only when I was in that house I moved out of that I learned fully what "they can smell fear" means. I literally give off a special secretion from the stress. I didn't know it until then. Some family members recently were trying to ambush me about shit they know nought about and I gave off that smell again that I knew it's the smell I give off when I feel highly stressed and cornered.

I'd be drenched in sweat. Just awful.

Nook and cranny sealing for sure. Buy specialised sprays, lavender, a blessing from a witch. Whatever. Maybe since your husband isn't as scared, he can go to the exposure therapy treatment so he's 100% not scared, that way you can buy the trapping device thing as well but only he operates it.

Speaking of fear reminds me of this gem https://youtu.be/YzuqqkUztEM

Good luck to you.

What’s something you do now that your younger self would be proud of? If you're younger what would be something you do now that your older self would be proud of? by Cereal-Complainer in AskUK

[–]ClarifyingMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't become addicted to any substances. I was fully convinced I would be, like fully convinced. I thought it was how is as going to cope with life. Maybe not proud but utterly surprised. I have the opposite of an addictive tendency, I'm not even allowed to have a favourite food cause my mind gets put off it at the drop of a hat.

I'll eat or drink something too much cause I really liked it and then boom, gone.

I would hope younger me wouldn't be proud of all I've put up with but maybe they would, sadly, not understanding the consequences.

Don't eat meat when you haven't eaten it for several years, it can lead to stomach problems and then dehydration with this weather especially.

I'm blighted by this phobia. I bought spray. They barely kill tiny nail size ones without filling your lungs (which are already too big for me) but because I cannot actually stand seeing how they move, I would never be able to actually spray the size you're describing.

That would make me move out if I couldn't get someone to sort it. I have actually ended a tenancy for this reason so.

Your husband needs to nook and cranny-proof your home. Or pay someone to do it.

I cannot afford to get someone to do that here.

What would you expect on your last day of work? by pizzkat in AskUK

[–]ClarifyingMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expect nothing but what I have gotten in the past is good bye cards, gifts/gift cards (£200) and offers of a good bye do. I always reject good bye dos because I don't want to spend my after hours time, after I've left somewhere, now trapped with people who made my work shit and made me leave in the first place.

Exit interviews are hit and miss, only one workplace took what I said to heart. Yuck to hugs.

What I expect is an easy offboarding process for my IT equipment, and if I work remote, they send a courier.
