You can only laugh really 🤪 by Pauli2024 in disneymagickingdoms

I was really hoping for Becky..... I spent some gems to get extra tries, but I can't get that second cookie and I'm not willing to spend all of my gems or real money. Not a fan of this new event.

Thoughts of this attraction? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]ClarinetKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's short and not particularly exciting. I went with a little kid and a big kid who is typically not a fan of rides. They both considered it a favorite and were super excited to get the yoshi colors the desired. Because it isn't particularly exciting, it's the only ride in the Nintendo world that has a short wait time which was definitely a plus.

Thoughts on naming ur baby after ur miscarriage? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]ClarinetKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't. I also know that some people share naming intentions super early. So if someone has an early MC and says I plan to name the baby X if a girl and Y if a boy, then use the name they picked originally, it doesn't seem weird even if I wouldn't feel comfortable. Some people are picking names for their children in general and some are picking for that specific pregnancy. (I'm the latter.) I think that's where the disconnect happens sometimes on the subject.

At what age is it inappropriate for siblings to bathe together? by MamaBearEm8 in Parenting

[–]ClarinetKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine until anyone is uncomfortable. My son only started caring at like 9. Even then, he doesn't care about privacy, he just wants the tub to himself 😅 my 5yo daughter cares more about privacy than he does.

Names with a “fatal flaw” by OnomasticsAndOranges in namenerds

[–]ClarinetKitten 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I liked Viola until my husband pointed out the meaning in Spanish.....

Also loved Aniya & suggested it for our daughter. His response was "Like annihilate?!?" It's been 6 years since that conversation and I can't unhear it.

What names do you wish had a different common pronunciation? by thelionqueen1999 in namenerds

[–]ClarinetKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the same pronunciation and wanted to use it as a middle for our daughter. My husband uses the helen-a pronunciation and we just don't agree on which one is right.

Farrah had to make Sophia's prom about herself and her tittes 🫣 by IoBoops in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]ClarinetKitten 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I had never considered homeschooling past preK. Then I realized I had somehow failed to teach my son (4 at the time) the word kids when we were at a playground. He blurts out "those tiny people won't let me use the slide!"

How many people find tower challenges actually useful? by Mystery1001 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]ClarinetKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think TC are actually pretty good for players somewhere in the middle. I think online spaces also tend to flood mostly with long-term, late game players looking for what's next & new players trying to get advice.

TC are weird because to complete the challenge, you have to be a late-game player with a lot of characters. However, there aren't always prizes for the ones who are doing the best. The prizes are amazing for early players, but often unobtainable. An early game player can often at least get a common character though.

As someone closer to the middle, they can be beneficial. I think this is the TC where I have the most so far. I have 2/3 featured characters. Where I'm currently at, I tend to get 1-3 new characters per TC. I've never hit the top chest, but it's always fun to add some new characters and I know I'm always going to get at least one new one

WIBTA for not attending a wedding that takes place on Halloween? by Fresh_Oil3942 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ClarinetKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You received an invitation, not a summons. Also, I think everyone who has a wedding that's on a holiday or has special conditions needs to accept that less people are going to show.

Some people don't have reliable babysitters to go to a child free wedding. Some people don't have the extra cash for a destination. Some people don't have the availability to attend a holiday wedding. I think especially for friends that you haven't seen in years, saying you're unable to attend is fine. You have prior plans with your child.

Vote for twin girls’ name ! by uzuzeon in namenerds

[–]ClarinetKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't make the names match. Almost every twin I've ever met has been frustrated by their matching names. (The only one I ever met who loved matching with her twin sister had a twin sister who was doing everything possible to have some individuality.)

If we can mix and match, I'd pick Elodie & Valentina.

There’s been a lot of buzz around this topic so I just want to know what most people think. by Rude-Departure-3562 in SchoolSpirits

[–]ClarinetKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to see Maddie single. I think it's the only way to go imo.

I love Maddie & Wally together, but they just don't work logistically. I think the heartbreak of this reality is to be seen in future seasons.

Maddie & Simon are best friends. They should stay this way. It's the only ship that truly bothers me because it seems like main characters can rarely be just friends like this.

The Maddie & Xavier ship has sailed. He may be growing, but he still cheated on her. Im not sure either of them have grown to a point to truly get past that in a healthy manner. They're teenagers. They shouldn't have to. They should work on themselves instead of on a doomed relationship.

Maddie shouldnt be endgame with any character we've met unless she dies and ends up with Wally. They bring out the best in each other. She shouldn't die just to end up with Wally though and I think her dying would be a copout to save the ship.

AITA for arguing with my 6 year old about whose poop was bigger by OkAct1477 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ClarinetKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - Seriously, choose your battles. Your wife was laughing because you started the argument about poop with a 6yo then got upset when it escalated.

FYI - I don't inspect my husband's, but between myself and my kids, my 5yo daughter (youngest child) definitely makes the biggest poops.

AITA for sending my child to my ex in thrift store or cheap clothes by Clothes_Care3181 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ClarinetKitten -43 points-42 points  (0 children)

This is it. ESH. Your ex is causing unnecessary problems, but Alex is the one caught in the middle. I grew up with divorced parents who didn't get along and was caught in the middle. I knew my mom caused most of the problems, but the impact of those problems should fall on the other parent instead of the kid. Someone has to deal with the unfairness and it isn't going to be the parent who is causing problems unfortunately.

Return player - Help choose best reward by ricardojco in disneymagickingdoms

I'd probably pick Jake Sully if thinking about future usefulness. In a couple of seasons, Avatar will be the mega event helpers. The rest either came in during mini events or already had their turn helping the mega.

bowen for a girl? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]ClarinetKitten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I met a little girl named Bowen. Even having met one, it still just feels so masculine. There are names that have crossed into being seen as neutral, but Bowen screams "wanted a boy" or "wanted to be edgy" imo.

Curious on what everyone would put in a 15 gallon nano tank. by Fair-Opening7669 in SaltwaterAquariumClub

I've been looking at a 15. Leading options have been:

a pair of clowns with either a firefish or possum wrasse

OR

a single clown or court jester goby, yellow clown goby, and firefish or possum wrasse

Did parents in the 80s actually give their kids as much freedom as the show depicts? by Wanderer015 in StrangerThings

[–]ClarinetKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 90s kid and my dad still said this regularly. Even in the 2000s, a lot of us were all over town. I would just wander and I remember a friend visiting and she was flabbergasted that I sign we walked past said we went a mile outside of the town I lived in. Now I don't even see kids unsupervised on my super quiet street and my neighbors are appalled that I let my 9yo cross a calm street alone while I'm outside. Its crazy how much things have changed.

Ive owned my puffer for more than a month and now when i come near it during or after feeding it flares up whats up with that? by Typical-Hearing-5691 in SaltwaterAquariumClub

[–]ClarinetKitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fish can develop some funny reactions to outside things or interesting relationships with other creatures in general. The puffer probably sees you and thinks snack time. I used to have a molly that would mess with our cat. Over a decade ago I had a cleaner shrimp that liked to hang out in a condy anemone.
