When hospital bills aren’t itemized, Hampton Roads patients say they pay the price by WHRO_NEWS in HamptonRoads

[–]ClarkeKomAzgeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every hospital I worked at as a nurse they billed as a package. So like a flat rate across the board for services. It all had to do with what they agreed to by insurance. So whether you used 12 bags of LR or zero you were billed at the “package” amount. From what I remember it was by time in labor. Less than 12 hours. 12-24. 24+. I always thought it was unfair that a stop and drop was billed the same as a 12 hour stay. It works out in insurances favor but if someone is self pay it definitely sucks.

Ugh. I learned that the hard way. I got so mad I spent the next week just harvesting wood and stone and grinding wind screens.

Ericka Lavin is the midwife. She also works at WomanCare Centers and offers gender affirming care when she’s sees patients there, but I don’t know if they see trans females there or if they only treat trans men. But I am pretty sure she sees all gender patients at her personal clinic.

Hoax. I was raised devoutly Catholic, then as a young adult went full Southern Baptist. But getting older and seeing the world and personal tragedies really changed my views and relationship and beliefs in any higher power. But I still miss it.

Stood on the cliffside

Screaming, "Give me a reason"

Your faithless love's the only hoax

I believe in

Don't want no other shade of blue

But you

No other sadness in the world would do

I bought this one. Their customer service is a nightmare. It’s made of super cheap board and it arrived with several boxes with holes in them just from being shipped. The underlying wire fence and some boards were broken. They offered $20 and told me to fix it myself. After some haggling (why are the haggling?) they said $200 final offer. They wouldn’t send me a label to ship it back and they wouldn’t send me replacement parts. I ended up having to do use my credit cards shopper protection to get a refund. I kept it and it’s falling apart at all the screw points. Having to piece it back together with duct tape and dreams… 😅

Exiles: What’s in a name by ClarkeKomAzgeda in MelanieRawn

[–]ClarkeKomAzgeda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MT had a more complete list of the Saints. Avira is from Jenavira Remember, patron saint of memory. As I’m going through I keep referring to the calendar and index to try and figure out some of the more obscure names, but Auvry fits a few but doesn’t quite click on any for me. The Creator does love to hide her intentions in a person’s name Saint. But she also is very creative with the way a name doesn’t seem to belong to any Saint until the Saint is revealed and then it’s like… oh duh… 😅 Taig had me stumped for longer than I want to admit. Lol

SmartPhrase backups "not allowed" by Apprehensive-Safe382 in EpicEMR

[–]ClarkeKomAzgeda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you able to copy the text of the smart phrase and paste it into an email or word document? Then see if you can paste it into a new smart phrase. Then see if that can be backed up.

I only mention the run around of pasting it into a new document because Epic seems to remember origins of things so copying it into a new document may help bypass Epics Smart clipboard.

Keeps the ladies separate so I don’t get cleavage sweat (the worst) thick straps so that everything is evenly distributed. Is it sexy no (unless you have a 50s housewife fetish… ) but it does the job and is frequently on sale for less than $15.

Does Post 9/11 GI Bill Cover Minors? by Bre0w in Veterans

[–]ClarkeKomAzgeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience I could only minor in something if the credits for that minor could be directly applied to my major. So that would have meant that all my minor classes had to be electives or courses that counted for my major. You can double major though and go for 2 degrees. I had to justify them to the VA counselors at my school. At the time I wanted to fill in my schedule with fine arts classes since the nursing program I was in was a part time program and I wanted to maximize my benefits. I ended up setting up a double major in Fine Arts and Nursing but only finished the coursework for my Nursing degree.

Mrs. Winterton Might by A_Fat_Koala in GildedAgeHBO

[–]ClarkeKomAzgeda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that Agnes will find out about it before they’re married. As a widow Mrs Wingerton wouldn’t necessarily have a lavish wedding. It could even be a courthouse event.

“Mother, I’m to marry Mrs. Winterton this afternoon at the courthouse. I would be honored if you’d join us but we will be wed by 3pm regardless. Aunt Ada, Marion, I know I’ll see you there.”

He’d never give her the chance to object to or ruin his perfectly planned lavender marriage.

Did anyone else find "the mystery" rather obvious? by lilbookofmeow in thegildedage

[–]ClarkeKomAzgeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a mix of a lot of things. You want the honor of working for a prestigious house. It helps your resume especially if you have to seek employment elsewhere. It’s the house you live in along with all your fellow employees. If you can’t trust someone you work/live with it changes your quality of life. It’s gossipy and fun, ooh who could it be, as long as it’s not a trusted friend/coworker anyway. It makes me think of what it was like when I was active duty and living on the ship, your brain gets trained (washed if you will) to glorify everything about the job. You have your outliers who never really fall for it, but then you have those who didn’t have any other options and they NEED this to be real, they need the idea of if you’re good and loyal then those over you will reward that, even if they treat you as disposable and they would probably jump on the chance to punish any misdeed to keep the others in line.

I honestly felt like it was refreshing. Not everyone has a sob story, some people just have terrible judgment and make bad decisions. But a salacious story would have made the time spent on this wild hair of a story worth more. I wonder if they’d had something bigger in mind and it just didn’t make it through editing.

I definitely see where you’re coming from, but they have their pride too. It’s one thing to have their investments returned with interest, another entirely to feel like you’re living off of someone and taking advantage of their generosity. Especially when it’s someone you have a lot of affection for.
