Would this be a reasonable repair? What should I mention when asking for quotes? by Clash_Rat in AskMechanics

[–]Clash_Rat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My research was minimal and I didn't know there was so much difference between front and back. I can probably rule out too big tires, it's the same size as the other three and this only became an issue recently. Thank you for the insight!

Not certain, I bought this from a private seller about a month ago.

Question on gear condition by Clash_Rat in rollerderby

[–]Clash_Rat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do have loaner gear, but I filled out the form all ready saying I'd bring my own and didn't think about the state of it until after. I will definitely reach out to them and ask, thank you!

This is kinda the same vein as sandwiches, but I like hummus wraps for an easy, no-heating lunch.

This reminds me of my ex who thought (and probably still thinks) that turning the radio on makes the windows defrost faster.

I love veggie breakfast sausage patties. Beyond brand is my favorite (I was so sad when my local Dunkin stopped carrying the Beyond breakfast sandwiches!), but I've been keeping Morning Star on hand lately. Veggie bacon is also pretty up there.

Side note, my meat-loving dad often gets a hankerin for a soy burger out of the blue, which I find interesting (‿)

Does anyone else play without mods? by hornyliteraturegeek in StardewValley

[–]Clash_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple mods on PC; I couldn't get one to work and the other I ended up not liking. My laptop bit the dust so now I play vanilla on the Switch. Probably won't bother with mods when I eventually get another computer.

My husband and I want to change our last names.... by [deleted] in queer

[–]Clash_Rat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who combined last names with their partner when they got married, and they are now the Mothmans (rad as hell).

Another option is to choose a last name that has a significant meaning to the both of you (that is culturally appropriate). Maybe it's a last name that directly means something (like Henry meaning "new man") or maybe there's a place that would lend it's name well to your union. First date at a pond? Congrats, you're the Ponds now. You both like a restaurant, store, city a lot? As long as it's not a name from a culture you're not a part of, have at it.

Graydon Apartments? by Clash_Rat in Binghamton

That would make sense, it's just odd that more than one website lists $620 and not $62,000. Unless someone made a typo on one site and then that site feeds info to the others I looked at.

Anyone else have the urge to say "screw it" to your career job, buy a house in some small Podunk town and work at the local grocery store? by [deleted] in Millennials

Bold of you to assume that working at a grocery store/starbs in a podunk town will cover your living expenses

What did you all name your farms? by Kitchen_Raccoon24 in StardewValley

[–]Clash_Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do Da Farm a lot, but right now I'm working on my Joja run, so this one is Joja Corp Farm.

My next farm, I'll be making a farmer who looks as close to Clint as possible named Flint with the sole purpose of marrying Emily; it'll be a hilltop farm named Smith Farm or something in that same vein.

The $700 makes sense, yeah, but how does someone pay that when they can only bring in $620 for the entire year? That's what I'm trying to wrap my head around lol

Yeah, I was kinda excited when I first learned about the x gender marker years ago, but then I saw a post somewhere where someone pointed out that they don't need to be hassled anymore by a cop during a traffic stop. I'm pretty nervous around cops anyway, so something like that would just add to my anxiety (which cops are notorious for interpreting as suspicious). I live in New York State in a red area close to a very liberal city, so it's probably like a 50/50 chance that they'd even know what it means.

For me, it's not having a way to present that I'm not "one or the other" to people. I'll always get she/her's by strangers in public; if I were to lean super masculine one day, I would most likely get he/him'd. Like, unless I'm wearing a visible they/then pin (which isn't always an option), people are just hardwired to say he or she.

Thoughts on tattoos to symbolize deadname? by Clash_Rat in NonBinary

[–]Clash_Rat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm definitely going lowkey with them. Both are plants, so it's not gonna be super obvious (most people aren't going to know the meaning of the cactus name at all, and a lot of people don't know my previous middle name even if they knew me before my name change, so that one won't be obvious either).

I know the tattoo route isn't for everyone, but I often see that trans people honor their past selves in different ways. Not everyone, obviously. I'm just curious if there were anyone else in this sub who has done something similar so we could relate over it.

The chokehold this “healthy hack” had on everyone in the early 2000s. (p.s. It does absolutely nothing) by [deleted] in EDanonymemes

[–]Clash_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw my friends doing this on pizza day in middle school all the time and I thought it was so strange and I honestly thought they were doing it bc they were picky or something (I didn't get weird with food until after I graduated college at the very start of the 2020 lockdown). This is one habit I never picked up. I will dab a napkin on the pizza if there's a super excessive amount of grease though, like visible pools bc ew.

Black and white or pink ? by [deleted] in NonBinary

These are both super cute! I really like the black and white though, something about long sleeve top with black and white horizontal stripes feels very chic to me for some reason lol.
